Does anyone know if there is a petition for President Bush demanding a pardon? I heard about it but cant find it. If there isnt one, I guess it’s time to start.

You can probably start by thanking Compean. He’s the one that sucked Ramos into this mess, and the rest is history.

Glenn Beck on his show today said he was going to put together a program tomorrow to help the families of these men because according to him, one of the families are about to lose their home.

This injustice justs infuriates me to no end.

It infuriates me too. Makes my blood boil. I’ve sent money to their cause. I can’t remember now the name of the organization working to help them. I looked it up on the internet before sending a donation because there are so many frauds out there and it seemed legit. Since then, they continue to send me things in the mail and I occasionally send in a donation. The words defense fund is in the name but I can’t remember the exact name.

If it doesn’t infuriate a person that terrorists who have killed or were captured trying to kill our troops are treated better than two Americans who were defending our border from drug smugglers, then there is something very messed up with that person.

Just to clear about how I feel about this case:

These guys deserve to be punished for screwing up. all though 10 years in prison isn't the right punishment.

They screwed up and should have faced some serious penalties, maybe as far as losing their jobs.

If it doesn’t infuriate a person that terrorists who have killed or were captured trying to kill our troops are treated better than two Americans who were defending our border from drug smugglers, then there is something very messed up with that person.

President Bush included?

Yes, even the President. In that sense, he has been indoctrinated with liberalism. It started with his generation and has only gotten worse.

A repeat drug smuggler running from the border guards got off damned lucky to only have been shot in the butt. He should have been shot to death. I want our border agents stopping these POS scumbags that smuggle drugs into the country.

There has been an untold amount of pain and suffering inflicted by drugs and drug related crimes. It always take something like somebody having someone they loved killed in a car crash by a person high on drugs to wake them up to what the stakes are. It’s only once it affects them personally and I find that a tad bit selfish on their part. It’s like the person who advocates for more rights and comforts for violent criminals up until they are a victim of violent crime. That level of selfishness is beyond my ability to comprehend. One set of principles for when its somebody else and another for when it’s them or theirs.

Gitmo terrorists have more rights than the Hamdania (Pendleton 8) Marines, too.

At Gitmo, they can appeal their cases to the Supreme court, while in a court martial, the convening authority can quash any appeal any time for any reason

Gitmo prisoners can have the full rights of a citizen in the American courts system, while the Pendleton 8 did not and still does not for Sgt Hutchins. He cannot demand that the government reveal sources, cannot present new evidence in his appeal like the Gitmo prisoners can, cannot use the appeal system in front of a Jury like the Gitmo prisoners do. He is at the mercy of a single person, the convening authority, Whatever general is at that time.

In other words, the Gitmo prisoners have more rights in an American court than the Pendleton 8 did, or ever will.

With the stroke of a pen, with the command influence we proved to NEWSMAX, HUMAN EVENTS, FOX NEWS, it meant nothing. But prisoners at Gitmo will get more press on their concerns, their charges, and their lawyers demands of their innocence.

The PEndleton 8 were just shuffled off to prison of shoved out the Corps, or shoved down in rank...all for following their orders.

Gitmo prisoners were trying to kill Americans and get more rights than the Pendleton 8.

The Pendleton 8 were trying to kill terrorists, and were proved to have less rights than people who try to kill Americans.

The Pendleton 8 case is the first of the recent Marine cases that we told America how there was undue command influence, with Colonels coming to the brig with no lawyers present telling the Marine prisoners to plead guilty, regardless of their innocence, but to plead guilty.

The Pendleton 8 had NCIS falsify documents, lie under oath, withhold evidence, and not one JAG Lawyer disallowed this and neither did the convening authority at that time.

And NEWSMAX and HUMAN EVENTS and WORLDNETDAILY and FOX NEWS refuse to cover it. And they refuse to cover it still. I guess it wasn't newsworthy enough that there wasn't a sitting congressman they could harp on about, after all, the lives of these kids and the lies of the government don't seem to matter, all that mattered was Murtha slandered the Haditha Marines, not the Pendleton 8.

fortunately, a newspaper in Oregon is taking it seriously now, and so is the Boston Globe. Let's hope they listen more than conservative news sources did.

We even have evidence and proof of a sitting congressman's legal assistant attending the court martial, fully briefed on what evidence was being refused, saw it, and refused to do anything about it. The congressman was fully informed of these events from others in attendance, yet the conservative news sources NEWSMAX, HUMAN EVENTS, WORLDNETDAILY and FOX NEWS didn't think it was newsworthy.

If only we got Murtha to slander them, then I guess it would be news...

Just watched it. We have cut back to hardly ever eating out and I’m still going to send in money. This kind of thing just makes me so mad, there are no words.

These kinds of incidents are why I have become brutally honest with my sons who both want to join the military. My oldest dreams of becoming a pilot like his dad and being accepted into the AF Academy. My second son (against our advise) has always talked of wanting to join the Army as soon as he graduates. I’m close to begging him not to. He is in extremely good physical condition for a 12 year old due to soon to be 5 years of football playing and conditioning and Basketball. He wants nothing more than to be a Delta and because he is an exceptionally good swimmer and diver, sometimes says he wants to be a Seal. I even showed him the video of the conditions at Fort Bragg where there was backed up sewage in quarters that no prisoner would ever be housed in and his reply to me was “I’ll be alright”.

I just can’t at this point encourage my sons to risk their lives when I know full well that their country will not stand behind them if something happens all because our politicians and generals allow themselves to be manipulated by public opinion (especially world opinion). Because they would sooner sacrifice our troops than stand up to public pressure.

In fact, I down right discourage my sons from joining at this point. I want a better life than for them and I’ll do anything to pay for their college to encourage them to go a different route. They have it so in their blood though it’s unbelievable.

GITMO GANG VS PENDLETON 8 PING

I can feel your heart pounding, Race.

Check the sentence structure of this: "The Pendleton 8 had NCIS falsify documents" where it should say, "The Pendleton 8 had NCIS so desperate for their prosection that it falsified documents.

From the Desk of:
Steve Elliott, Grassfire.org Alliance

I am positively sickened by the Fifth Circuit’s outrageous
decision rejecting Ramos and Compean’s appeal. I know how
devastated the families are, and I can tell you, the last
couple of days have been quite emotional for everyone here
at Grassfire.

But hope is not lost.

In fact, I’m excited about what has already taken place.
Just hours after the ruling, key members of Congress drafted
a letter to President Bush asking him to use his exclusive
authority to pardon Ramos and Compean and correct this horrifying
injustice.

We’ve posted this letter for our team to read. Click to read:

http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?U=9736&CID=142&RID=12352716

I understand that Monica Ramos and Patty Compean
are going to continue their appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. I
would probably do the same thing, but it will be a long and difficult
task.

Frankly their best hope rests with you and me.

We need a grassroots uprising—demonstrating to key members of
Congress that the American people have not forgotten about Ramos
and Compean, and demanding the President do the right and decent
thing by pardoning them.

But time is short. Congress is leaving town for summer
recess at the end of the week, and I want to flood them with
support for Ramos and Compean before they leave.

In fact, I want them to know that we won’t rest until Ramos
and Compean are returned to their loving families!

+ + Action Item #1 — Flood Congress with Faxes and Ribbons

The time is now to set Washington awash in a sea of faxes
and ribbons demanding Congress and the President
“Bring Home Agents Ramos and Compean.”

Take a moment right now to schedule your faxes and
to send ribbons:

http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?U=9737&CID=142&RID=12352716

(As always, if you prefer, please send the faxes on your own.
Our FaxFire service is for your convenience. You can access
the contact information and sample fax text at the above link.)

+ + Action Item #2 — Call The White House

After scheduling your faxes and ribbons, call the White House
and leave your comments. I know every comment is listened to and
reported to the President and his staff.

Again, I want to overwhelm them with calls demanding a full pardon
for Ramos and Compean.

I have included some brief talking points to help:

1. I am outraged that the Fifth Circuit did not overturn the
lengthy prison terms of border agents Ramos and
Compean.

2. I call on the President to take any and all necessary actions
to secure their immediate release—through Presidential
Pardon or other means.

Contact Numbers: White House Switchboard: 202-456-1414

I’m deeply saddened for our system of justice, for our nation’s
border security and mostly for two families who have become victims
of a system that favors illegal alien drug smugglers over our own
law enforcement.

But thankfully, the fight isn’t over, and the Ramos and Compean
families know they can count on Grassfire!

Thank you for taking action.

Steve Elliott, President
Grassfire.org

P.S: After taking action, please forward this message to 20-30
friends—encouraging them to follow your lead by signing our petition
demanding a full pardon for Ramos and Compean by clicking here:

http://www.grassfire.net/r.asp?u=9740&PID=12352716

+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
