Video of Quake During Taping of Judge Judy
An earthquake halted the filming of many television programmes in LA. Even the usually unflappable Judge Judy lost her cool as tremors interrupted her show. The earthquake measured 5.4 on the Ritcher scale.

One commercial before video begins...
I’m hoping the entire video makes it to her show.
I’m amaZed the length of time that elapsed before anyone realized what was happening.
she didn’t seem too scared to me.
Everyone immediately thinks to run out of doors and into the streets: where in fact you are likely to be in more danger because of falling bricks and other debris...
Get down under a table, or next to chairs, & cover your head/face with your arms. DROP AND COVER!!!
Did she cite Mother Nature for disorder in the court?
I thought the same thing. Something already crashed. Get under a table.
Maybe those lights in the studio could have come down.
After 9/11, I think most folks look at such advice with distrust. Forget what they told you in school, just get outta there!
"Don't Shake My Leg and Tell Me It's An Earthquake".
I remember seeing an “aftershock” being shown on the Tonight Show once. Carson was very cool and calmed the audience immediately. He remarked later in the show about how the shock had traveled across the studio. First the audience got restless and noisy, then the cameras shook and finally he felt it. That was just how viewers witnessed it.
She's meaner and nastier than ever with her new contract in place.
It amazes me the losers that show up and think they can con Da Judge.
Well she has to lead by example by staying calm.
In other words, the live audience felt it first. It would not have suprised me if Carson commented on it afterwards.
I know you didn't mean otherwise, but this isn't a trivial matter. Lives are dependent on following a safe course of immediate action during a major earthquake. What the people did in the Judge Judy instance was potentially harmful to them (they could trample each other, or run out to a much more vulnerable place) and people should know what to do -- as advised by the Red Cross and safety experts. And those in earthquake prone areas such as LA should know what to do.
...Or also they had learned from the animals, and in a special way, from those who have pets who sense ahead a possible earthquake coming to get out.
Yup. IIRC, this show was the day of, or the day after a major quake.
I love me some Judge Judy.
A court system full of Judy’s is what we need!
I was on the 7th floor of my building in Newport Beach yesterday when the earthquake started, and since I was high up off the ground it REALLY moved. But having experienced a number of these throughout my life, I could tell immediately that it was a "5-er", so not to get too upset. And it passed pretty quickly. Just the transplanted New Yorkers in my office were the ones upset by it. : )
The only problem with that is on those folks who come from out-of-town, from places where there is no known earthquake dangers and not knowing what to do, and as a previous post has said, in this post-9/11 age and what we had seen in China a few months back with its recent major earthquake disaster it is not suprising how the folks there responded.
