Thanks for the news/post...from a West LA resident during 1995-2005.
Since fled to Mid-Missouri.

Sorry you had to leave LA, but where do you go? There is not a city in the U.S. that they haven’t almost taken over yet. They have such a high birthrate, that if we don’t watch it, we will lose our country to them. It is heartbreaking for all of us.

Sorry you had to leave LA, but where do you go?

To Columbia, MO, home of The University of Missouri and the
famed Journalism School, alma mater of Uncle Walter Cronkite.

I've got extended family here; it's a wild intersection of new-old
money (plenty of the WalMart clan), liberal academics and students
as well as conservative farmers/workers of Democratic or Republican
affiliation.

We had a storm (hail and maybe a tornado) in March 2006, with
a big influx of roofing crews filled with illegals (followed me
from LA!).

But, given that even the Democratic Att. Gen. Jay Nixon has been
anti-illegal (along with Rep. Gov. Blunt and Treasurer Steelman)...
the tide of illegals seems to have ebbed.

I hoped they moved on to sanctuary cities like New Haven, CT
and not back your way!

Good for you! If your governor and Attorney general are against illegals, they will be on your side. Also to be going back where you have an extended family, it will be like going home. As you know, here in LA we have a true-to-form Mexican mayor, most council members, and quite a few in Sacramento, who are against us, and we are classed as a Sanctuary city. They will not get rid of all the freebies for the illegals, so they keep on coming.

Only a mile south on Stapley and Southern we have been watching a new retail development go up with interest. We do not know what it is, but will be so happy if it is NOT a Latino establishment.
