JOHN MCCAIN, MITT ROMNEY
Pawlenty or Romney?
The individual who told me yesterday that he had heard McCain's pick is coming soon, and that it was Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, now tells me that McCain's list is down to Pawlenty or Mitt Romney.
I urge readers to take this with the requisite caution. Neither man's schedule has had any last-minute changes or cancellations, which to me is a leading sign of an announcement being lined up. Pawlenty is still scheduled to speak before the American Legislative Exchange Council tomorrow, and Romney is on vacation in New Hampshire until next week. (Or so the media is told.) He's also scheduled to attend the Olympics Opening Ceremonies in Beijing.)
Whatever. No one has heard of anyone.
Cantor is an actual conservative.
He’s young and charasmatic. Whip, I think. Actually done things in Congress — in contrast to the Obamination.
And he’s a Jewish guy with Southern charm — a damn dangerous combination, according to Mrs. MWT.
Given Obamas weakness on Israel, THIS is the election to take back the Jewish vote.
You would think that, but the GOP gains with the Jewish electorate would probably be minimal if Moses was Veep.
Maybe, but the Washigton Post reports that the Eric Cantor for VP movement is gaining steam.

There are even websites

He is a safe bet and has no baggage.
Thought this was interesting, from the Powerline blog:
“In a recent National Journal anonymous poll of three dozen Republican congressmen and senators, Eric Cantor received the second-highest number of votes — behind only Mitt Romney — for whom they would like as McCain’s veep pick. When Bush spoke in Israel this May, the influential Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention told several members of the American delegation that he would like to see Cantor as vice president.”

If recent polling is any indication, Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr could make a dent in U.S. Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) vote total in Nevada.
Anjeanette Damon reports that some in the state are touting former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney (R) as a vice presidential running-mate, suggesting he could help McCain secure the state.
"Romney is a no-brainer," said Ryan Erwin, a Republican consultant from Las Vegas who advised Romneys Nevada campaign. [...] "Romney takes this state from a slight lean-Republican to a heavy lean-Republican."
Yes, Romney!
My fingers are getting tired from typing it. Any one that thinks McCain has any chance whatsoever of coming within five points in Minnesota, delusional.
Pawlenty or Romney?
Romney.
No question.
LOLOL
OK, that Eric Cantor guy looks good, too.
Cantor or Romney for McCain’s VP
He brings nothing to the ticket.
I agree with you.
I agree. It must be McCain. But we have some Obama lovers here or some are so filled with hate they cannot think straight.
I PRAY it’s Mitt. I’m a Christian and would LOVE to see this mormon in office.
EXACTLY!! Being Republican is all about universal healthcare and $50 abortions for all./s
Of course, you don't support Obama because he is black you bigot. That goes EXACTLY against what being a Republican is all about.
The Mormons on FR accuse everyone else of not supporting Mitt because they are anti Mormon bigots. They pretend it has nothing to do with his stellar “conservative” credentials. Likewise, I think that the reason Mormons don't all support Obama is because he is black and they are all bigots.
