An earthquake is now rocking the Southern California area. (I'm near Dodger Stadium)
As I post this, the USGS has not yet determined the epicenter so click on the link above for the exact location and magnitude from the USGS.

Had some disappointed folks in my store this afternoon. They had been at Disneyland and all the rides were closed down.
Understandable, but hard to explain to a bunch of five/six year olds.
Thank you for the ping. I am in Atlanta right now and my family is in So.Cal. My Mom in Glendora said she could see the walls move! She has been in So.Cal for over 60 years and said this one really unnerved her. Her cell phone and landline did not work for a few hours. When she went to check on her Pit Bull, the dog jumped into her arms!

I have been close, but probably not there. I have been through Joshua Tree, Twentynine Palms on the way to the Colorado River.
I was at work this morning in Glendale and we felt today's quake start out slow then build. I work in the basement below ground level so when we feel a quake we know it is strong and far away or milder and close by. Now the folks in the other building feel it more on the 3rd and 4th floors. I believe my building was a civil defense shelter so it will probably make it through any earthquake.
My house is in Ontario, probably 10 - 15 miles from the epicenter. I have been in California since 1962 and vividly remember the Sylmar quake (I was 13). In the days that followed my dad (who was still alive at the time) delivered equipment on the back of big trucks and some of the bridges he crossed rattled him a little.
that’s the 1st time that i’ve felt an earthquake while sitting in a car.
in long beach, at a red light, and the front end of my car went up,
down.
i looked up to see the aluminum street lamps moving 3-4 like jello.
My wife said that she saw our car make a little dance in the driveway, when the earthquake hit.
Sounds like she's south of South Hills Park (and the 210) like myself. Really had a very strong north-south movement, enough to get me out of the building, and I'm usually the one who chuckles at those who do run out in the middle of a quake.

There is a poster here SN ISEEMYHANDS (guessing) who puts borders around every post he/she makes.
No, actually she just south of Foothill Blvd, near the High School. Her biggest concern were her china closts and her grandsons! Both ok. What freaked her out was no phone service for such a relatively small quake. Something she did not expect. How I miss Glendora and California!

According to our insurance department, it was a Foursquare Church in Pomona.
FR servers are in Fresno, about 240 north of where today’s earthquake was.
