I ride a bike and I drive a car and know that there are stupid A$$holes driving both. However, most bike riders are safe and courteous as are car drivers.
And I would imagine that many of those that say the things you have listed are not in the physical shape required to ride a bike for more than a few blocks.

All the male bicycle riders I know of are all whiners.
What I find funny about this is that even outside this thread you hear phrases beginning with “motorcyclists are...”, “Bicyclists are...”, “Truck drivers are...”, yet people understand that car drivers are lots of things. There is the asian lady fresh off the boat. The family guy in the minivan that never breaks the speed limit and always wears his seat belt. The crazy high school boys. The responsible drivers, the drunks, the texters, and everything in between.
Same is true for motorcyclists, truckers and bicyclists.

As for the freeloaders comments... they are laughable at best.
I drive, pay taxes on my cars, etc... even paid to register my bike with the city... I have every right to be on the road as any vehicle....

Oh, yeah.
Cyclists want to be treated as equals on the road, yet riders don't think they need to obey the same traffic laws as the drivers of *real* vehicles on the road.
Cyclists ride full-speed on sidewalks.
Cyclists ride against traffic.
Cyclists ride in crosswalks.
Cyclists run red lights.
Cyclists run stop signs.
Cyclists ride across painted dividers.
Cyclists are incapable of slowing down to allow cars to proceed ahead of them.
I don't know, but I'm finding a huge correlation between freepers whose views I abhor and support for bicyclists on public roadways.
I could have predicted that, but it's still neat to see it in action.
