May he live to be 120, but when Bob Shrum eventually goes to his reward, his epitaph could read "Here lies Shrum. He thought he was great. But his presidential record . . . was 0-8."
After Shrum taunted Pat Buchanan as "living on Mars" for supposedly overestimating the power of affirmative action as an issue, Pat fired back, reminding Shrum of his dubious lifetime achievement of having consulted on eight losing Dem presidential campaigns with nary a win.

Don’t always agree with Pat (obviously) but I sure wish more “conservative” pundits had his gumption.
I have no use for the antiSemite who makes up history, even if he smacks Bob Shrum.
Victor Davis Hanson demolished Buchanan’s book. Buchanan took offense and yet VDH won on facts.
Can’t stand PB most of the time, but I’m always happy when someone gives the smackdown on a leading useless liberal. I hope Shrum can run his losing streak to at least 0-12 before he’s through!!
Hard for me to consider Patsy a conservative since he ran on the cult-commie ticket with Fulana. Mebbe it’s just me...
Nor do I. He left a long time ago.
That may leave a mark but if it happend on Morning Joe ... nobody cares. Morning Joe makes Red Eye seem like Shakespeare.
Actually, Buchanan's running mate was Ezola Foster, a very conservative black woman.
“Ezola Foster, a very conservative black woman.”
Anyone named after the plane that dropped the bomb on Hiroshima is OK in my book. Oh wait, that was Enola ;-)
So true, VDH obliterated Buchanan’s credibility and seriousness as a supposed historian:

There’s nothing left of PB except his sneering contempt for everyone but himself.
Ezola Broussard Foster (born August 9, 1938) is an African-American conservative political activist. Foster is president of Americans for Family Values, authored the book What’s Right for All Americans, and was the Reform Party candidate for Vice President in the U.S. presidential election of 2000. In April 2002, Foster left the Reform Party to join the Constitution Party.
Thanks for the links, Enchante.
I don’t know how anyone could compare the two except to say that VDH is an historian and an excellent one and that PB is neither.
Pat Buchanan mocking other people who were involved in failed presidential campaigns seems a bit like glasshousery.
Ezola Foster was a figurehead but Fulani was a strategist.
That wiped the spit-eating grin off their faces, didn’t it? But here’s hoping that he remains out of touch with reality and keeps his perfect streak going.
Why do you Buchanan haters show up on his threads?
Go bother someone else.
Um so Churchill caused Hitler to be a megalomaniac?
Just checking what hatred is.
A number of Rudi and/or McCain supporters keep inserting negatives about Ronald Reagan in discussion that have nothing to do with RR.
Strategist of what? Fulani walked out of the Reform Party convention after she did not get her way, and had zero influence on the campaign. After the Long Beach convention, all the non-Buchananite elements in the Reform Party, including Fulani, were gone.
