Malls are dying, precisely because they are magnets for roaming gangs.
That's why all the new shopping centers are strip malls.
They have no congregation area for people who aren't shopping anyway.

My daughter used to hang out at the mall occasionally and I guarantee you she never caused trouble, BUT mobs of teenagers tend to scare folks away, so even the good kids hurt business. The biggest mall in my area no longer allows anybody under 18 without an adult after 6 p.m. on weekends.

Research Triangle Park area -- the "intellectual utopia" that was created in NC a couple of decades ago?
I thought that area was supposed to have attracted the highest concentration of PhDs and other educated folks in the U.S...
