McCain Slaps Obama: He's Acting Like He's Already President

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Republican John McCain said on Thursday he would like to give a speech in Germany as U.S. president not as a White House candidate, taking a swipe at rival Barack Obama while the Democrat gave a major address in Berlin.

"I'd love to give a speech in Germany ... a political speech or a speech that maybe the German people would be interested in, but I'd much prefer to do it as president of the United States rather than as a candidate ... for the office of presidency," McCain told reporters in Ohio.

Standing in front of a store in a neighbourhood known as German Village, McCain -- for whom foreign policy is considered a strength -- said he would focus on issues at home while his opponent travelled abroad.

"We're going to be campaigning across the heartland of America and talking about the issues that are challenging America today," he said.

Obama drew a crowd estimated by one local official at 200,000 in Berlin's Tiergarten Park, where he urged Europe to stand by the United States in bringing stability to Afghanistan and confronting other threats from climate change to nuclear proliferation.

Republicans have scoffed at Obama's high profile speech, which German media has compared to President John Kennedy's famous 1963 "Ich bin ein Berliner" address.

"Ich bin ein Hypocrite," the Republican party chided in a statement, criticizing Obama for what it called a lack of leadership on Afghanistan in a congressional committee he chairs. "Ich bin" means "I am" in German.

McCain, who had a bratwurst for lunch, said he already knew many of the European leaders with whom Obama was scheduled to hold talks on a trip designed to bolster the Illinois senator's foreign policy credentials.

200,000 - 20,000; eh, what's the difference of one Zero anyway?

I remain pleasantly surprised that McCain is countering Obama’s crap so directly and in quite timely fashion. It would be better if McCain took an offensive position, but reality is that few people will know if he does because the MSM flat ain’t gonna cover it as such. EVERYTHING in this campaign is about how it affects Obama, as far as the MSM are concerned.

Not to go off topic...but you asked.

No it does not make a sound and here's why;

When a try falls in the forest it interacts with its surroundings and will disturb these environs.
One aspect of this interaction is that the surrounding air is disturbed and is forced away from the tree and other moving objects as waves. Until these waves are intercepted by a being or creature that has the sensory equipment (an ear) and the brain capacity to interpret the information sent to it by the sensor, they will continue on as waves only.
Once these waves are picked up and interpreted, they cannot be called "sound".

So, lacking "anyone" in the forest with the equipment to intercept and interpret these waves, they are not sound yet.
So the tree makes no sound.

20000 = 200000

Have you noticed every article keeps emphasizing the crowd size. Not just he gave a speech, he gave a speech to a crowd of 200000. I despise him more each day.

Ok, if it was such a great speech then what is one line from it? Was their a “tear down this wall” or a “I am a jelly doughnut” sentence in there that will be remembered in perpetuity? I can’t remember any.

who cares if 200k or 20k bolsheviks showed up in Germany? Those Europeans are hardly great pickers of leaders. Same goes for my current place of residence Portland Oregon. I don’t doubt somewhere near 70k showed up here. So what? There are a lot of misguided socialist nuts out here.

And my understanding is that there was a free concert w/beer - reminiscent of Portland, Ore - before his speech.

No mention of the concert at either place.

“If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around, does it make any sound? “

If the ABCCBSCNNMSNBC Obamedia ratings are so low nobody watches it any more, is there a media bias?

I managed to avoid barfing over 24/7 obamedia adulation by not watching the cr*p anymore.

I think Obama is by far the weakest candidate the Democrats have ever fielded yet the media is so far into his pocket that he actually stands a chance of winning.

I have no idea how to calculate the value of media fawning but it must be literally worth billions.
