I believe Obama’s defeat will be due to the fact that among Obama supporters are huge numbers of mainstream, swing voters who do not have the cult-like worship of him, and that Obama’s support from these voters can only decrease between now and November.

This dropoff of voters from the Obama bandwagon is inevitable because of the following factors: Obama’s poor judgment about Iraq, his troop snub, Wright, Ayers, the “bitter clingers” comment, the huge question about islam, the huge question about support from terrorists and murderers, the arrogance of media support for Obama, and whatever else I haven’t mentioned or is yet to come.

Obama has “cult like worship” from a large group of the democratic base (albeit, not all). They will work for him and his candidacy tirelessly because they “believe” in him (why, I don’t know).

The religious right felt that way about Bush in 2000 and 2004, giving passionate support in dollars, hours and votes in both elections. Who feels that way about McCain?

Susan Estrich had an article on Real Clear Politics yesterday htmland among the 400+ comments (and several others from Democrats), I found these:

I am not a history major but Europe before 1939 was my concentration in college. I agree with you completely. I am a tree hugging, non meat eating, pro gay and lesbian rights, etc etc and I find Obama and his cult of personality really really creepy!
And they attack, crazily attack any one who questions him as a racist, or a Republican or an hysterical female who can kiss her right to her own body goodbye.
I’m married to a black man and I’ve marched for abortion rights in DC. By what measure can I be called a racist? Or a republican? I don’t fear Black men...BARACK OBAMA is SIMPLY NOT QUALIFIED TO BE PRESIDENT!

So basically what you're saying is that NEITHER of the candidates have a base and more people are scared of Obomba than McCain.

Is that correct?
