Petróleos Mexicanos will pay $484,000 a day to Noble Corp. for an oil rig that will allow the company to drill in waters up to 7,000 feet deep for the first time.
Pemex, as Mexico's state oil company is known, will take delivery of the Noble Max Smith rig in August under a three-year contract, Noble Corp. said in a statement.
The rig is being moved to Mexico from the U.S. Gulf of Mexico following upgrades and maintenance

I don't know why - you would think this would be a poster child for banning offshore drilling. We (US) have a better record in offshore platforms.”
That helps confirm my suspicion— I believe environmental groups are sold out to foreign contributers [at the high level]. Most environmentalists are just being used.
I think that one fellow beginning to realize what's going on is Robert Redford. He once told off Bill Clinton [in an op-ed] for allowing oil drilling in Escalante [I think it was Escalante— been a while], the same place where Bill Clinton prevented the gathering of hard coal [which burns cleanly— even with low tech burning]. Perhaps it's just wishful thinking, but for all of his faults, Redford may one day find out the truth about a few things.
