Americans

Posted on 07/26/2008 8:26:44 AM PDT by Shruet

Zots alone moves the wheels of history! Have you ever asked yourselves in an hour of medication which liberals find themselves in during the day, how long we have been striving for zotness? Not only the years we've been at zot. But from the moment as a child when we realized that trolls could be zotted. It has been a lifetime struggle , a never-ending zot!, I say to you! , and you will understand that it is a privilege to zot! We are moderators!! Americans I ask you, once more zot and be worthy of this historical hour! The liberals will conjure up images of our freepers and they will insult our patriots as murderers. This is our duty to zot their sorry arses into the next time zone. I say, Americans of the world, unite! We must never acquiesce!, for it is together, together that we zotvail! We must never cede control of the capacitor bank for it is together that we prevail!

Hallo...

I’ve been good here & there. My back has been hurting
lately, right between my hips. It’s been making me ache
down my legs too, so it’s hard to move in certain ways.
Mother says it’s a pinch (she’d know about back pain).
However, my back is refusing to crack & reset itself.

In other news, the ceiling in my room leaks. It
rained today, so I got to see that it’s moved
over to a spot directly over an outlet... hooray.

Still, the place is nice... if you don’t look at
the boxes that are still around, still packed. ;-)

Well, Girl, if I were there, I’d “fix” your back. I learned how to do it with the victim on the floor when I was about 12, and before I was 25, I learned how to do it standing up, with the victim safely tucked in my arms.

My problem now, is that there is no one close who knows how to do it, or is tall enough to do it with instructions!

I’m thinking I should try standing on my head for 5-15 minutes, just to see if that helps a little. A pinched nerve is nothing to mess with. I’ve had surgery, but they won’t do it again. They might mess up my arthritis. So I get to suffer. Which is why I thought of head-standing.

(I wish I were close enough to help you!)

Ohyoiks. A drip/leak over the outlet? Talk about stealth...snuck right over there and is waiting to shock you, no doubt!

Boxes are “OK” as long as you have pathways....

;o]

"I’m thinking I should try standing on my head for 5-15 minutes, just to see if that helps a little. A pinched nerve is nothing to mess with."

I'm thinking this would only end up giving you a pinched nerve in your neck, without doing anything about the back.

More likely, a bit of light "gravity inversion" (which I thought some members of the "Dark" family used for sleeping anyway ...) might provide some relief.

Gravity inversion boots are available, which allow you to hang upside down. That seems a bit extreme. I'd feel safer suggestion an inclined exercise board, where you could strap your feet in, and then do some easy sit-ups, or just lie there, under "reduced" gravity inversion.

If that doesn't serve to loosen up a compressed nerve, you might need professional (i.e. chiropractic) help.

.

P.S. You can rig something up at minimal expense by using some flexible straps and an ironing board, or some similar arrangement. Whatever you choose, be sensible and don't hurt yourself.

Ah. Gravity inversion. Weights and pulleys. I’ll call my dad. He can tell me how to do it. Thanks for the suggestion!

(By the way...don’t we have any place here that is gravity-free? I mean, besides outside the airlocks?)

Welp, I know you have a wonderful answer for me, but I have to quit typing. My fingers are protesting.

Later, y’all!

The author is clearly a dunce, but did this one really come up to the level of Zot?

Me thinks it excessively glorifies his standing here.

"... don’t we have any place here that is gravity-free? I mean, besides outside the airlocks?"

Gravity-free won't help your back. Reduced gravity helps to take the pressure off. So if Mars normal isn't light enough, you can stop off anywhere on the Thrust Ring, which is more like Moon-normal gravity.

For really light gravity, you can arrange a visit to our tame asteroid, which we are mining industriously. There's almost no gravity there.

And we've also put our zero-gravity swimming facility back up. It's at the center of rotation, but there is just a slight tug of gravity from the asteroid. We balance against that with the jets of air that keep the pool in the center of the room.

Plenty of low gravity around. You could also join one of the shuttle trips. Except when under thrust, they're zero-gee all the way. (I always like going to Ceres.)

I could use some low-gravity this evening. I had James clinging on my neck at the pool last night, and now I’m having trouble turning my head to the right. Bill built a tennis-ball mortar today. KABOOM.

Perhaps James needs some swim lessons.

He could. Maybe next summer ...

Both Pat and Vlad will go under the water, but James is too chicken. And he’s big and strong and hurts one’s neck!

He’ll get over it. I learned the summer I turned 5. (Was that really 21 years ago? Sheesh.)

James is 4. I hope he’ll improve by the end of the summer.

It appears to have been fun. I was cooking supper when they fired it. It’s made with Pringles potato chip cans, so it’s only good for about a half-dozen shots. Maybe they can do a few more tomorrow!
