New Courier editor takes the reigns

Eastons only local paper has a new editor.
Julie Weisberg has taken The Couriers editorial reigns after the papers previous editor, Maggie Caldwell, left her position to take time off from work to travel.
Weisberg, who assumed her new post last Thursday, said she is not only excited about the opportunity to cover Easton, but also about her first chance to sit in the editors chair.
I have already had an opportunity to speak and meet with many members of the community over the last several days, and everyone has been very welcoming and encouraging, she said. I know the paper has seen its share of editors come and go over the past few years, but I look forward to really digging my feet in, and covering the community as fair, balanced and informed as possible for some time to come.

It's probably not going to happen, because it looks like the Courier must be a low-budget operation. After all, note that she had to interview herself before writing the article about herself.
While she's at it, maybe she can buy herself a few adverbs as well...
If someone as abundantly unqualified as Obama can be the leading candidate to "take the reigns (sic)" of the US government, there's no compelling reason why we can't also have unqualified newspaper editors, airline pilots, and brain surgeons taking the reigns as well...
LOL!....as fair, balanced and informed as possible....as compared to what?....Pavada
I’ve never liked Courier. I prefer Times New Roman.
what...where?
what the heck is an easton?
That was exactly my thought.
It’s Easton, Connecticut (but it could just as easily have been Easton, Anywhere)...
I understand that Dan Rather and Mary Mapes felt the same way... :-)
Funny stuff.
BUMP!
Huh. I figured it was Easton, Pennsylvania, home of Larry Holmes.
Now is she the last one tasked with turning out the lights?
That was my first thought, too. Who would confuse “reigns” and “reins”? A monarch “reigns.” We don’t have any of those here.
