Bloomberg News updates the story reporting European Command sent a letter to Obama saying he could only be accompanied to Landstuhl by one Senate aide and his security team. They nixed retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Scott Gration and another Obama staffer, Jeff Kiernan, for the visit because they are part of Obama's campaign.

That sounds a little fishy to me. Gration could probably walk into any US military medical facility in the world with his ID card. I'd like to see that letter that Bloomberg reports.
