I'm optimistic that in this election we are choosing between two good and uniquely qualified individuals seeking the job with a least a more inherent civility, let alone grasp of history, than we've experienced in the last eight years. This can only be a good thing.
I like John McCain.
I wouldn't walk across the street to shake George Bush's hand, but I'd walk a country mile, barefoot, to shake McCain's.

You know things have gone horribly wrong when New England Democrats are expressing love for the Republican (and supposedly conservative) candidate.

Bonus points for being optimistic and in good cheer. |

Both sides of what aisle? The aisle of the DC-10 taking sex-tourists to Havana for trysts with underage lolis and Castro-worship?

Hard to disagree with that. I find it easy to disagree with.
I don't like McCain a lot more than I don't like anyone else in this race.
But of the 3 of them, Hillary! and the Messiah are simply 2 boneheads halfway through their first Senatorial term. McCain has a long history in the Senate and military at least.
A long history as a liberal I'll grant you, but he has a term of service to talk about at least. Which is more than the other two can say.
Bush I was a Navy flier, then a congressman, then US Ambassador to the UN, then Director of Central Intelligence, then Vice President before he ever got elected President.
Didn't much like him either but at least he was qualified and knew how the levers of govt worked. Nobody in this race is nearly that qualified as far as I'm concerned.
But on the whole, McCain is more qualified than the other two are or are likely to become.

I wouldn't go that far. The Klintoons are murderous, traitorous plutarchs who feign about as much tolerance for their fellow citizens as they have to in order to fool the masses. Eight years of Bill was bad enough. The Mrs is nothing short of pure damn evil.
If nothing else comes of this election cycle, it is at least a small victory that we won't have her jackboot digging into our collective throats next year.
