I noticed this listening to his speech and did the research:
Obama, all his advisers, and the fawning MSM are clueless.
As mistakes go, I would say this is the ultimate. A prepared speech (not an off-the-teleprompter gaffe), announced days in advance to the world. How is a mistake this huge possible? There is no chance he misread (misspoke), otherwise, there would be no mention of Belfast in that portion of the speech.
Not only does Obama not realize that there are more "peace walls" then ever in Belfast, but his entire speech writing and campaign consulting team did not catch this error -- not to mention the adoring world press - who had access to his speech text prior to the Berlin speech today. This would not have gotten my attention while listening to his speech, but I just happened to stumble on an article a few weeks back (not the USA Today article below) and the Belfast walls were fresh in my mind.
I haven’t read the thread, so someone else might have said what I’m going to say.
I was in Belfast at this time last year.
They most certainly did have walls then, as I am sure they have now.
The main gate closed at 6 pm.
Though my fraternal ties are to N. Ireland, it was the most interesting, sobering, and creepy day trip of my lifetime.
I was very happy to board the train back to Dublin.
BTW, the tour guide who escorted us said that it had not been that long ago that a day trip to Belfast was akin to a day trip to Baghdad.
I believe her.
And, I ask God to continue to Bless the USA.

Good fences make good neighbors

There are probably more walls and fences around the world now, than there were when the Berlin wall came down in 1989.
Here's a sampling:
Separation Barriers around the world.
I wonder if Barack noticed the wall separating Israel and the Gaza strip while he was there a couple of days ago.
What is Mr. Obama going to do about the border fence between the U.S. and Mexico?
Are all these going to come down in an Obama regime? Sometimes good fences make good neighbors.
Great. So have him tell them it's caviar, and that there's a bucket of champagne to go with it, courtesy of former Vice President John Garner.
Your unveiling provides us evidence of TWO things:
1. The "journalists" covering the Democrat party candidate are sycophants, rarely if ever testing the words and statements of the liberal candidate.
2. B. Hussein Obama is a man who merely reads what others put in front of him, and he is not a man who knows his history or the world.
Both journalists and BHO are a joke.
Yes, the are depressing. But while living in Belfast, I also found them fascinating. And they are still building them. Yes, things are getting better between Protestants and Catholics. But there are always hardliners on both sides in North and West Belfast, where most of the walls are, who will never live together.
My cousin is going to marry a gal from the South (Galway)
They have friends in Ulster and claim the walls and divisions are up even into dividing parks and whatnot
I just listened to an interview with Michael McDowell recently on NPR and he was accompanying a tour of Derry City (Londonderry) and they were touring the walls that although now more accessible were still up and crucial at night and the locals on both sides said they liked it that way for now.
