McCain takes lead in Colorado, poll shows

John McCain is now winning among likely Colorado voters, helped by a surge of sentiment blaming Democrats for the soaring price of gas, new poll results show.

The Quinnipiac University polls shows McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, the top choice among 46 percent of likely Colorado voters. Democrat Barack Obama is the top choice among 44 percent of likely voters.

A month ago, Obama held a 49-44 percent lead over McCain in the same poll.

And in the U.S. Senate race, Republican Bob Schaffer has closed the gap against Democrat Mark Udall. Udall was ahead a month ago by 10 percentage points, but the latest numbers show a dead heat — 44 to 44.

So all John McCain has to do is sit around and do nothing. Meanwhile, Citizen of the World is shooting himself in the foot just by campaigning. Everything is backwards, but if it works, so be it.

McCain is doing more than nothing - He has correctly started to tout drilling! Drilling here and drilling now....while at the same time stating the premise that we have WON in Iraq...and that we are winning the GWOT.....And as CinC he will continue to lead GWB effort to make sure that success continues.

Drill here, drill now (set the premise that it is DEMs and their constant artificial restraints on supply that have caused our current energy costs situation) along with saying DEMs are for defeat....are two issues that will seal victory for McCain come Nov.

Considering Quinnipiac leans left this is even better news.

The election season just got real easy for the GOP. Hang this oil thing around the demonRATs necks and hammer it home in every single comment you make about anything, including the weather. Second, tie in Iraq by saying what would prices be like now if al Qaeda controlled Iraq's oil, which is what we would have if we had listened to Brak and most of the dems back around 18 months ago when they wanted to bail.

Perhaps 20 points behind.

If the enemy is destroying himself, let him. I expect Obama will win Germany by a landslide. Fortunately, Germany has no electoral votes.

My vote is my gun, but my prayer is my bullet. Pray for Obama’s crushing defeat.

Be careful. McCain could turn around and repudiate those who blame his “good friends” across the aisle for this situation. Especially if it might damage RAT chances in November.

Shhhh... He probably thinks it's one of the 57 states... Let him continue to waste resources campaigning there...

I think that MUST be McCain’s plan, do nothing and let BO implode. Good news on the Senate race as well.
