(IsraelNN.com) Israel is facing its worst existential threat since the birth of the State, said Republican US presidential candidate Senator John McCain on Wednesday, McCain said the combination of external threast by Iranian nuclear weaponry and the presence of terrorist groups on Israel's borders, plus the internal threat posed by political upheavel due to the corruption investigations against Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, comprises the greatest threat to Israel since 1948.

"My feeling about Israel today is that they are probably in many respects under a greater threat... than they've been in since their independence," he in a campaign speech back in the US, according to Reuters. McCain's rival, Democratic Senator Barack Obama, is currently in Israel, where he visited Sderot on Wednesday stumping for American ballots from overseas voters.

John Sidney wisely speaks out on the subject of Israel while Obama is busy cluttering the plaza of the Kotel (Western Wall) with his campaign banners. The contrast between McCain's visit to Israel and Obama's is breathtaking.

Thank you for posting this. I’m in disbelief at Obama’s audacity. I’m sure they weren’t the campaign workers he knew.

Arrgghhh!

Just by the fact of Obama being at the Western Wall in Jerusalem could incite the muslims to try to take over the Temple Mount.....
Either Obama is so foolish, or this is a calculated move on his part by taking advise from his Islamic buddies.
Just by this very act could start WWIII , and that is no exaggeration.

Agree...

All of obamas’ friends in the US are radicals...

There are NO moderate or conservitive Muslims or Blacks or whites who support him....

This man is the only American candidate who (in my entire life) truly scares me..he is dangerous...

Thank you Prophet,

There are so many under the bus I could not keep track. I think Wright is near the bottom. :)

May the “empty suit” be the icing on the cake under the bus. I hope it’s a fact come November.

Israel’s real problems are internal, not external.

I admit I am no fan of McCain for many reasons. He was/is my absolute last choice for the GOP candidacy. But.........................when it comes to Israel, McCain gets it and understands the threats to Israel (and the USA) by radical mohammedanism. I don’t believe McCain would throw Israel under the bus. Snobama-messiah would throw Israel under the bus at the drop of a hat. And McCain didn’t desecrate the Western Wall by having campaign posters all over the place, he showed proper respect for the holiest place of Judaism.

presence of terrorist groups on Israel's borders

Someone needs to clue McCain in. Those are peace partners, not terrorists.

Obama or McCain, I don’t trust either one of them when it comes to Israel. (or anything else for that matter)

Remember, McCain said his administration would send “the smartest guy he knew” to the mideast, either Snowcroft or James Baker.
