Fenton, MI – July 23, 2008 – In a statement released today by America’s Independent Party, Chairman Tom Hoefling welcomed California’s American Independent Party to the growing ranks of AIP state affiliates.

Hoefling, commenting in the wake of a statement from the office of the California Secretary of State recognizing Edward C. Noonan as the rightful chairman of the American Independent Party and the legitimacy of the actions of the July 5th State Convention in Sacramento, said, “We gratefully accept the AIP State Central Committee’s decision to affiliate nationally with us. We share a common bond based on faith in God and a fundamental respect for America’s founding principles. We have the utmost confidence that the leaders of the American Independent Party share our vision for rebuilding politics in this country from the ground up. The California AIP is now the cornerstone of the new national AIP and the vanguard of the historic next stage of the modern conservative movement.”

America’s Independent Party is a conservative pro-life political party that stands for constitutionally limited government, national sovereignty, secure borders, economic liberty, and a Reaganesque “peace through strength” national defense and foreign policy. America’s Independent Party endorses or nominates candidates for public office based on a proven adherence to constitutional principle, not mere party labels.

Additionally, Hoefling praised the American Independent Party’s nomination of former Reagan Assistant Secretary of State Alan Keyes for President, saying, “With the complete failure of leadership in the Republican Party, it’s time for a new beginning for principled conservatives. Alan Keyes is laying the groundwork for the long-term revival in America of government of, by, and for the people. That’s why an overwhelming majority of us support him, and are working to place him on the ballot in as many states as possible, either as a party nominee or as an Independent candidate. The American people deserve to have a true conservative choice in November, not just another liberal echo.”

the joke is on those poor people who think they are helping the conservative movement by supporting a nut.

Read more carefully, and then get back to me.

I've read what I've read.

See. I'm in business, and if you put something in black and white, and shift tunes half way in between, I get cautious.

Please understand, I am not against you, or Alan Keyes, but right now, I see a bunch of red flags waving. I do however, think your party might be better off with a PR man with a bit more tact.

Thank you for your concern for our great country.

Seriously, has Keyes ever won anything?

Didn’t he lose the nomination from some other crackpot party?

Its not bullying, its just pathetic. Does Alan like being laughed at?

There must be a money angle in here somewhere, are all the finances out in the open for the public to audit?

I would be happy to talk about fundamental principles of conservatism as soon as we dispense with this third party nonsense.

What is Alan Keyes’ position on the fight against Islamo Fascism? Or do I have to pay him to get that information?

It is the century where the Republican nominee no longer deserves our vote

Seriously, has Keyes ever won anything?

Well, his solid service to our country during the end game of the Cold War won him the love and respect of Ronald Reagan.

Oct. 26, 1988

"Alan, I should be the one thanking you, because you did such an extraordinary job in the first seven years of our administration: working with Jeane Kirkpatrick at the United Nations, serving as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, defending our country against the forces of anti-Americanism.

"I think particularly of your work at a conference in Nairobi where you and my daughter Maureen worked to eliminate the disgusting “Zionism is racism’’ resolution from that conference’s final report and earned the gratitude of all Americans.

"And there was your performance as my Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs, where you pursued successful reforms of the United Nations and opposed with every ounce of strength in your body all those who have served to foster and legitimize state-sponsored terrorism.

"Alan, I should be thanking you – and I am – because every time I asked you to do your best, you did that and better. Every time I asked you to stand for America, you stood tall, and you deserve not only my thanks but the thanks of every citizen of this great country."

President Ronald Reagan

That’s nice, has he ever won anything, like an election?

Seriously, this is a joke right? Is Borat behind this?

Re: posts 64 & 65

WOW, I hope Mr. Keyes appreciates all the hard work your doing to win him votes !!!!!

Please don't respond, as I've learned all I care to about the AIM party.

What is Alan Keyes’ position on the fight against Islamo Fascism?

He's been fighting it since the eighties, when one of his briefs for Ronald Reagan was fighting terrorism.

Enjoy the ride on the Straight Talk Express, then. Watch out, though. Say the wrong thing and it’s “straight under the bus.”

I’m glad the disruptors are here, frankly. They’re demonstrating better than I ever could have exactly what the Republican Party has become.

They’re pretty much of the same spirit as Carville and Begalla.

Does Keyes plan on winning by having you make snide remarks?

Are there public finance statements about this campaign and party? I have to think this is a way to put money in Keyes’ pocket.

You sure this isn’t an Onion article?

All campaigns’ and all parties’ finances are reported to the FEC. You can peruse the records to your heart’s content.

I think you’re projecting when it comes to money, though.

The AIP is probably the least money-driven project anyone has ever seen.

Got any comments about the principles the new party represents, or are such things not even considered at all in the new Whiggified “GOP”??

Answer my question, has Keyes ever won any election?

And why would he continue to embarrass himself this way? Is he ill?

Please submit a link to where I can peruse the finances of this campaign, since you are a part of it, and have nothing to hide, do your job and post it for us.
