Isn't that about the 3rd quake in the range of 7 magnitude in the last few weeks? Is that normal for Japan? I know they get a lot of quakes but I don't know if these are unusual because of the magnitude.

Beat me. To be fair though I was checking to see my memory was correct over at USGS
