Obama is going to pick either Kathleen Sebelius, Claire McCaskill or Bill Richardson.

Obama will pick Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell.

Firstly to get a lock on Pennsylvania, which is critical to a Dem victory...

And secondly to sooth over the Jewish vote, which doesn't trust Obama.

Some of my neighbors are Jewish, and several have told me they will never vote for Obama... and will support McCain.

I almost didn't believe them until I saw a McCain sticker on one of their vehicles the other week.

Anyway, a Rendell VP pick will go a long way toward solving both problems for Obama. (Rendell is Jewish)

First of all you are correct that Rendell would help with the Jewish vote though I'm of the belief that a VP can't help you as much as they can hurt you.

I'm from southwest Missouri and this next thing deals with the northeast, an area of the country that I don't really understand politically. I know an elderly man from New Jersey, first generation Italian, life long Democrat. I know him but don't like him. Regardless this is what he said to me, “Well Kevin, I'll tell you what. I'm going to vote for McCain, because there is no way I'm voting for a colored man”. Now in my mind that is the WORST reason for supporting McCain over Obama. Still you have to wonder how many senior citizens in the northeast think along those same lines.
