LONDON, England (CNN) -- A protester who wanted his message to stick managed to superglue himself to the British prime minister Tuesday evening.
Dan Glass, right, takes hold of the British PM's right arm just before he was about to receive his award.
Dan Glass was at 10 Downing Street to receive a charity's award for his work on transportation issues when he staged the unusual protest.
Just before Prime Minister Gordon Brown presented him with the award, Glass squirted superglue in the palm of his left hand. He shook Brown's right hand and then grabbed the prime minister's sleeve.
"I've just superglued myself to your arm," Glass said he told Brown. "Don't panic. This is a non-violent protest."
Glass is affiliated with the group Plane Stupid, which campaigns against airport expansion and climate change. He said he acted to protest Brown's "hypocrisy" on the issues.
"I just wanted a few more minutes of his time to get the message across, because he's not listening to communities affected by airport expansion," Glass told CNN on Wednesday.

“”I’ve just superglued myself to your arm,” Glass said he told Brown. “Don’t panic. This is a non-violent protest.””
I would’ve turned and punched him square in the face.
Besides, superglue is damaging to the skin, idiot.
Says it all.
Sheesh, they didn’t arrest this idiot, nor even eject him from the event...dangerous precedent.
That’s funny.
He should start travelling the world super-gluing himself to world leaders and celebrities.
He might even end up with his own reality show on MTV or something.
Guy even stole the idea from an old “Two and a Half Men” episode.
Brown yanking his arm away could have cost that clown some painful skin loss.
BWAHAHAHAHA!
Prime Minister Gordon Brown foolishly awards this Plane Stupid fellow for his idiocy and Brown is rewarded in turn.
“If it’s Brown, flush it!” (But first unglue it.)
A group opposed to flying?
Amputation, then send the plane stupid fool a bill for the surgical proceedure, and a cleaning bill for the PM’s suit...
In most states in the USA, restraining someone by force or threat of force and creates a threat or fear of physical harm, there would be a felony charge of abduction. It is unbelievable that these nutcases have heads of state so fearful that they do not prosecute as strongly as possible under the law.
This moron should be superglued to Mumia and thrown into an active volcano.
If I was the PM I would at least charge him for the jacket.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: The tycoon bankrolling the anti-aviation activists who stormed Stansted owns shops in airports around the world.
Mark Constantine, the owner of Lush Cosmetics, was today accused of profiting from airline passengers while funding groups whose actions can severely disrupt their journeys.
Lush has contributed £20,000 to anti-aviation organisations including Plane Stupid, which masterminded the protest at Stansted by more than 50 activists that brought flights to a standstill for two hours on Monday, reports Londons Evening Standard.
