SPRINGHILL, LA (KSLA) - Governor Jindal will welcome republican presidential candidate senator John McCain to the Bayou State on Wednesday -- a state that political analysts expect McCain to carry without a problem. So the question of where governor Jindal ranks on McCain's list of vice presidential nominees is on the mind of many in Louisiana.
The governor answered with a confident no about the possibility of accepting the nomination for the vice presidency.
"I'm not going to be VP. I've already got the job that I want. I want to be Governor. I told the people when I was campaigning that this is a historic time to change our state," said Governor Jindal.

The tally so far: nays for Graham, Jindal, Fiorina, and Lieberman; unknown for Palin, F. Thompson, Romney, Hillary, and Obama. (Yes, I would not put it past the losers in both parties to run a combined McCain/Obama ticket.)

Who can blame him? Jindal has a good start on his political career. Why would he want to screw it up by associating with McCain?

Agreed! He’s our boy wonder by 2012. Stay away from Geezer McCain, Bobby. 4 more years and you’ll be prez.

Let’s hope this is the final word on a Jindal vice presidency. The inconsistency of hammering Obama as a political neophyte and then selecting (for who would be the oldest man to ever be elected president) a one-term governor from Louisiana must be apparent to everyone. Jindal would be wise to finish his term, set Louisiana on the right path, then turn his more seasoned attention to federal aspirations.

Who said Graham was a no? Kissinger said it has been McCain and Graham for years. Already planned!:)

As part of their reporting on the Jindal/VP response, KTBS (Channel 3, Shreveport, LA) ran a poll today on Jindal's performance as LA governor
Favorable: 70%
Unfavorable: 30%

I suggest printing up
"McCAIN-OBAMA" bumper stickers.
THEN, turning them UPSIDE DOWN and affixing them to one's car's bumper.

Great as he appears to be, Bobby is still young and untested. It would be a good idea for him to get one or two terms as governor in before he makes a serious run for the big job. Lots of people who look good initially, like Newt, flame out. Bobby needs the seasoning and experience before he moves farther.
