Just vote for Obambi-—or refuse to vote for McCain-—and this is the type of crappola that will become a permanent feature of LBJ’s never-ending “war on poverty.”

“Shouldn’t they be encouraged to take a bus?,” you ask.
Hells bells, maybe they should be FORCED to take the bus.
I think we should start a thread on which every Freeper posts photos of completely empty “mass transportation” roaring through their city or town-—”mass” transportation that was forced upon the nation by the enviroweenies and the Welfare Propagandists for, among other reasons, providing transportation for the poor.
If the Rats want to give gas stamps to the “poor,” then the Rats should, first, withdraw all federal funding for “mass” transportation (those empty, empty buses) and divert it to private subsidized transportation.

I read a story last week about how the Dutch gave their “poor” vouchers for vacations as well.
The article was about several families who came home early, complaining that the vacation spot wasn’t nice enough.
I was going to post the article, but got called away.

Does this mean that the gas stations are going to be SUPER busy at the first of every month, while I stand in a long line behind a bunch of poorly dressed fat asses who are filling their tanks with high octane while Im buying a half tank of regular unleaded?I had no concept of the impact of welfare payments on business until I patronized a skating rink in Chula Vista, CA. I had been there many times before and was pretty familiar with the "regulars". I arrived on the first Friday night of the month and noticed lots of armed security on site. I then purchased by ticket and entered. It was wall to wall black people. Absolutely no room for any sane person to skate. I walked out and got a "rain check" for another night. That's when one of the armed security people appraised me of why they were present. It was "Mom's night". The night when welfare moms get their federal check and dump the kids at the rink. Argghh! Lesson learned. On most "normal" nights, the regulars included about 30 black young adults and teens. All very amiable and skilled skaters.

I never was a liberal, but had a similar experience that opened my eyes to the pernicious effects of all kinds of gratuitous charity. (By that I mean: charity that is not given to a person whom one knows for a purpose one has knowledge of.)
Anyway. One of many such experiences: we participated in a program called Angel Tree in which people donate a gift to children whose parent(s) are in prison. Awwww. Well, when the gifts were delivered to these children, many only complained (”I wanted a basketball” or “I didn’t want a basketball”). It was quite stunning.

Every Dem proposal over the past few years has been to get people OUT of their cars. Now they want to provide welfare gasoline to get them back INTO their cars. Why don’t leftist heads explode with all the DOUBLETHINK??? Are they really so completely ignorant of logic and consistency?
I guess it was my curse to be educated as an engineer.

What are they going to do? Give stamps to the farmers, truck drivers, policemen and others who use fuel for a living? When the jackasses drive the price of fuel to $10/gallon how far is $500 going to go?
The first thing they should do take the right of congressmen to be reimbursed for gasoline purchases.

The question is....”How far are we going to go at $10 / gallon?”

Where I live, they already have bus stamps! And the buses still run mostly empty.
