He actually lives in Maryland and claims to own a home in Florida which is a lie. I wonder where he pays taxes? If at all.

He probably pretends to be a resident of Florida to save on state income tax. Income Tax fraud investigation?
I heard that the other home was in his mother-in-law’s name. Senior community. I believe that he could be on the loan and get the deduction. My recollection is that the IRS doesn’t care who gets the deduction (owner or otherwise) as long as it’s not two different people.
Does FL have an income tax? I know they have real estate/property taxes. How does his deduction for real estate show up on his IRS forms ... if he files?

He can get the federal deduction for two residences. Most of these critters would have a double mortgage deduction and would pay little or no income tax on their congressional pay. And of course bribes are not taxable.
I’m not allowed to post to the other guy. Children can live 2 months in the senior community in Fla. As far as I know, you can claim the residence, even if you don’t own it. Rent, roommates and all that. His explanation will be second home, kids in school where I work, get to Fla when we can.
Are you kidding? Those senior citizens in South Florida would never allow children to live among them. And while they might like the notoriety of rubbing elbows with Congressman Wexler, there ain’t no way his family and he would be allowed to reside there.

“Is that true? You live with your mother-in-law?” Jenkins asked with a straight face.
“Uh, the, mm ...”
“My in-laws own that house, that’s correct,” he finally said.
“So you live with your mother-in-law?”
“My in-laws own that house, yes, that’s my official residence.”

Congressman Wexler’s book, “Fire Breathing Liberal.” On P. 52 he states, “While many members don’t bring their families with them to Washington, choosing instead to fly home each weekend, Laurie and I decided it would work best for our family if our three young children attended school in the Washington area.”

KCVL, How can I save just the video to my computer? Do you know how to do this? Much appreciated.
1. The issue of where a representative lives is addressed in the U.S. Constitution itself, therefore this is not a matter that the courts will take lightly.
2. The Constitution requires that a representative “be an Inhabitant of that State in which he shall be chosen”. The requirement is inhabitancy, not residence, not domicile. They are all different legal concepts.
3. A U.S. District Court addressed this issue when the Democrats challenged Dick Cheney’s qualifications for Vice President, alleging that he was an “inhabitant” of Texas, not Wyoming. The Court held that: “a person is an “inhabitant” of a state . . . if he (1) has a physical presence within that state and (2) intends that it be his place of habitation. The test for ascertaining inhabitance is thus a dual inquiry concerning physical presence in fact and intent to remain in or to return to the state after an absence.”
4. Based upon the facts presented on the show last night, I believe that there is a legitimate issue as to whether Wexler is constitutionally qualified to be seated in the House based upon his implicit assertion that he is an “inhabitant” of his in-laws home. He neither has a physical presence at that home and it certainly does not seem to be his intended place of habitation.
I like how Wexler’s license plates are from Florida. Lol! Entitlement.
And anyhow, how can he or any Congresscritter for that matter, stay in touch with his constituents while he’s living in Maryland?

Isn’t that just like a liberal democrat? Liberals want to tax everybody but themselves. He lives in Maryland and claims Florida as his residence to skip paying the ski high taxes imposed on the people of Maryland by a Democrat legislature. Dispicable; but since Democrats think the laws they pass are not for them, this is no surprise. I want to see Wexler on Fox this evening. If he doesn’t show, you can add “chicken” to his title of tax evader.
