Why does Hollywood thinks anyone buys their one-sided propaganda pieces. Mary Mapes is still in denial and bitter over the whole thing. If they told the true story it might be remotely interesting, but since they are gonna tell the story from fictional viewpoint, it is a complete waste of time.

Mapes and Rather worked on the W air guard story for more than 20 years, going back to his governor of Texas days. They couldn't make it stick.

Ping to the champ who busted Rather’s fraud.

They couldn't make it stick. Which is surprising. If the media had stuck behind Rather, the story would have probably blown over. It is a rare instance where the media reported the truth and did not bury it under the rug. I think the media learned it lesson. I don't expect the dinosaur media to do McCain any favors, no matter how intellectually dishonest it makes them look.

I wonder who’s going to play the evil, conniving, finger-twirling Buckhead.

...like all stories, was imperfect... - And unlike most stories, was a laughable hoax.

Lies are eternal embers, flaring up in the drafts of evil, spewing soot that discolors the white marble of truth. Words won't snuff them as words are their fuel. It is the bellows man that must be removed.

who they gonna git to play Buckhead?

I wonder who's going to play the evil, conniving, finger-twirling Buckhead. I vote Anthony Hopkins in his Hannibal Lecter persona. That should fit how the left views anyone who took down Rather.

Like Carter nearly replaced Johnson as the worst President ever, this movie might replace Ishtar on the worst-ever list of films.
BTW - I did see a movie that came very close to bumping Ishtar of the prominent perch of putrid performances, it was Martin Sheen in the movie "Da"

I hear all the beautiful Hollywood starlets are clawing each others' eyes out, fighting over who gets to play Mary Mapes.

I think this is designed to capitalize on what Hollywoodists see as Obama’s inevitable victory, recalling the heroic struggle that led to that triumph.
In that sense it is like the spate of anti-war movies that were made to capitalize on the ignominious defeat of American forces in Iraq, a defeat Hollywood was sublimely sure would already have happened by the time the movies were released.
They could well be in for another costly surprise. You might think they would learn after a while but, as with all fantasy ideologues, acting out the narrative is far more important than the objective reality.
