“Looks like the Germans figured out why Obama won’t allow anyone to bring anything into his big show,” Beethovenqueen writes.
The Bild headline reads “Barack Obama bans protest signs in Berlin.”
The article then goes on to say:
Obamas Organisatoren wollen nichts dem Zufall überlassen. Auf Handzetteln, die seit Montag für die Rede im Berliner Bezirk Tiergarten ausgeteilt werden, heißt es: „Plakate oder Transparente sind nicht gestattet.“
Aus Sicherheitsgründen sollen die Besucher auch keine Taschen und Rucksäcke mitnehmen dürfen.
Translation:
Obama’s organization is leaving nothing to chance. As of Monday flyers are being passed out near Berlin’s Zoo that read “Posters & banners not allowed.” For security reasons visitors should not take purses or backpacks.
The latter will put off Germans. How are people supposed to stand out there for hours with no water and no worldly possessions? Or is someone making a killing on selling Kool Aid? Anyway, the headline is a hopeful sign that at least some of the German press see through Obama’s “security demands”.
Update #1: Sen. Obama’s website clearly states: “For security reasons, do not bring bags. Please limit personal belongings. No signs or banners permitted.”
Note that the location posted on Sen. Obama’s website is stated as the Berlin Tiergarten (the zoo), with the Siegessaulle (Victory Column) in finer print. One thing we can count on is the Obama campaign’s willingness to distract and distort reality.
Other German newspapers—Zeit Online, Berliner Zeitung—back up the Bild’s story. Word came from the Obama campaign.

You should see the direct European based coverage. The little we see here is NOTHING compared to the positivly orgasmic obama coverage over there. The media (which is generally far left) is reporting him as a more european union compatable president. His tax policies are in line with eu principles.
Essentially it is the “how could anyone vote for Reagan over Carter” mentality. Assuming by some miracle mccain pulls it off and Republicans maintain control, get ready for more american voters are stupid articles.

Sadly the Liberal Jews who are the same that said Hitler was not that bad either as they were loaded on to the train cars headed for the death camps. Sometimes my fellow Jews are too naive to believe it can happen again in 2008 or beyond.
In my view as an American Jew! you can’t trust anything Obama has said. He is one scary dude.
I’m not quite sure how to put this, but I don’t see Obama just worrying about American affairs. This international jaunt is kind of a way for him to fully establish himself for more than a presidential position.
It wouldn’t surprise me if he tried to start telling other countries how to run things and if he would threaten to use military action against countries who don’t bow down to him. Not because of policy interests, but because of personal reasons.
At this point I think the Chinese and other Asian countries will treat him with the diplomatic respect as President, but for Obama I don’t think that would be enough.
He shouldn’t even be giving a speech there. Well unless it is a speech of why we don’t want him back in OUR country. ( dreaming here I know)

exactly why is he speaking to a crowd of Germans, the last I knew they cannot vote in our election,
any mention of free drinks and food at this event byt he media yet????????????
