“We need only a government that is both accountable and responsive.”
Don’t hold your breath unless a revolution happens. Politicians do what THEY think needs to be done and then blame someone else when it goes wrong. Reagan was probably the last honest, steady politician we’ll have for awhile.
Since then oil has dropped and there are no scare stories about this hurricane-to-be in the Gulf skyrocketing oil.
An aroma, anyone!??
Some truth, some Kool-Aid. Drink it all up anyway.
Good piece! Thanks for posting!
Ping for later.
* List (chapter and verse) all the regulations and laws that need to be repealed in order to drill, and drill now. Use this list as the new “Contract With America for Energy Security”. Have a mega-bill introduced that in one fell swoop removes the foolish and self-imposed energy embargo.
It isn’t complicated.
Everyone should just start disregarind the Federal Government, much like Oklahoma.
I say, we create our own “security” forces, and start drilling onshore where we know the stuff is, and let the national gaurd, ect, try and come stop us. Half of them boys will probably disregard orders and setup more shop pointing back at “the man” and help us out.
Most of us would lie the same way if our paycheck depended on same.
400,000 oil wells and a million service stations. Not complicated at all. What could be simpler.
It is manifestly obvious to the most casual observer that the Congress and President, supported by federal bureaucracy, have deliberately and wilfully created an environment in which foreign dependence and elevated costs for energy are the norm. This has been accomplished through consistent efforts over the last 40 years.
There can be no question but that this condition places substantial amounts of our financial resources in the hands especially of nations inimicable to our intersts, Russia, UAE, Venezuela and so forth.
Locking up national resources from exploitation by our own industry while making them by default available to our neighbors and China is clear Federal policy.
Red herrings such as alternative fuels, environmental concerns, and protracted production timelines are obfuscations, not justifications.
It remains to understand the motivation of elected officials and government workers in their visible efforts to undermine our economy. There is only one possible explanation. The government has become the enemy of the people. The Marxist doctrine of forcing the masses into abject dependency upon the state is the modus operandi of our government.
What remains is to determine the extent to which citizens will willingly allow themselves to become enslaved by the government. We are far down that road with no obvious means of retreat.
Reagan was probably the last honest, steady politician well have for awhile.
Excellent piece. Bookmarking for later thwapping of libs.
Which is kool aid and what is your proposal?
