I can cut it down to several of the first frames - then enlarge it - and then possibly composite “Birdy.gif” into the animation

Yes, on things like that the frames run so fast that I can sometimes start taking out every other frame and get a good result. Also, the part of him just standing can be cut out a lot.

Sic the Mormons on them, to compete for the ad space. I hear the Mormons have a ‘gospel restored’ campaign cranking up. Maybe NY can make money off of both religions by selling the ad space at bidding sessions.
