Its a slight bit of a hit piece, but there appears to be something to this story. I've run up against the Communists in Flushing before, but the Falung Gong is not only doing that, but getting interference from our NY politicians. Falung Gong even took articles from the past few weeks and put out a paper accusing John Liu and State Assemblyman Ellen Young of selling their soul to China. Partly believable (at least Ellen).
