GM showed a photo of the Cruze to employees during a TV presentation.

Workers caught a brief glimpse of the car coming to the Lordstown plant, but General Motors still is keeping the Chevrolet Cruze under wraps.

< >

He noted that the Cruze promises success because GM is powering the car with a new 1.4-liter, turbocharged engine that is to have fuel efficiency of 45 mpg.

I think the main problem is that the hood is too flat. Get rid of the slot above the Chevy logo. Slope the hood down. Make the logo smaller. Just use the outline of the logo and put it on paint, not air.

I agree. My sister used to own a maxda RX, BUT she truly HATED the front symbol.

It looked like the old Hartford Whalers hockey team insignia.

Well, I could go with your diea of removing the top slot BUT in regards to the logo, don’t make it any smaller. I agree with the outline needs to be painted...BLACK not gold.

If I am not mistaken the Cruze replaces the Cobalt. The “Volt” was or is to share the new Cobalt’s Platform, so I will go out on a limb here and say maybe the “Volt” will at least share the chassis with the Cruze, since it is to be built at Lordstown.

I'm 6'4” 250lb. How in the hell am I suppose to get in and out of that.

Hate to tell you this, but not all of us are 6-12 and 400 pounds.
Don't take it personally, we're not out to get you.

It's not fair? No. Life's not fair.

The article implies that it does. Don't know if there will be a 2009 Cobalt.

"The car is to be launched from the Lordstown complex in 2010,..."

By that time, gas will be $2 per gallon again. Actually, this would be a good product to put on the market, but the timing may be off.

Based on Kempo's post, he's not 6-12 and 400 pounds either.

“Oh look .. another crappy sedan.”

Another auto “expert” adds his worthless 2 cents. My family and friends depend on the fortunes of the big three automakers and any new product that gives hope for future survival is accepted with open arms. Remember, these are among the last of the large American manufacturing corporations and if or when they’re gone, as with almost all other past large American owned companies, we will be owned and receive our economic dictates from Asia. Many posters on this board constantly complain about buying a union made products from Detroit yet they purchase cars from companies whose home country afford their citizens limited civil rights, limited property rights, zero gun rights.. etc. ( and buy electronics made in a Communist country). GM, Ford and Chrysler has done more to add to American prosperity and identity than any Japanese, German or Korean firm ever has or ever will. Ironically, it was the industrial might of the big three that helped bring about the downfall of Germany and Japan and allowed them markets to eventually swallow us whole. And when we become worthless to them, they will move along to other markets because they don’t care about the US (on 9-11, the Big three immediately jumped right in with large contributions and vehicles and it took Toyota days to add any help (probably only not to be shown up by the American companies). So lets keep sending our dollars overseas, our dismal future depends on it. Just my worthless 2 cents.

My Toyota starts everyday and holds its value. More than I can say for any American car I’ve ever owned.

Why does Chevy have to build cars with such an ugly front grille?

Obviously they made it ugly in front to keep up with a longstanding tradition. A tradition of ugly gas guzzling poor quality overpriced cars like so many that have come before them. By the time GM figures out what people have wanted for years they will have ceased manufacturing cars altogether. There’s a reason Honda’s and Toyota’s are so popular.

Speaking of the Cruize, whatever happened to Cruz Bustamante?

Don't think he could walk 45 feet, much less 45 miles, on a gallon of anything.

I have very little body fat. My problem is knee and head room and I hate falling down it to a car, then pull myself back up out of it. I’ll keep my Z-71 pickup.

Considering that our Lord and Saviour Darth Obamer wants to up the CAFE standard to 40 mpg, you all better get used to the idea of driving around in stuff a lot smaller than the Cruze.
