KABUL (Reuters) - Presidential hopeful Barack Obama called the situation in Afghanistan "precarious and urgent" on Sunday and said Washington should start planning to transfer more troops there from Iraq.
The Illinois Democrat spoke from Afghanistan on the CBS program "Face the Nation" after meeting privately with Afghan President Hamid Karzai on an overseas trip meant to bolster his foreign policy credentials.
"We have to understand that the situation is precarious and urgent here in Afghanistan and I believe this has to be the central focus, the central front, in our battle against terrorism," Obama said.

Obama lands in Afghanistan for about half an hour and now he knows exactly what to do? Smart guy. He must be a really quick study.

3 brigades on the ground ties up 9 brigades. I hope obama understands that. I'm sure that McCain understands the flow of how the military operates in the real world.

and that's where McCain has another advantage on Obama. McCain doesn't want to “go at it alone” and wants at least one combat brigade to come from NATO.

Yeah, what he said. Me, too! Me, too!
Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., the charismatic, messianic Magic Negro, does not have one original thought in his head (most of his “manifesto” is rehashed “social activism”), and it is impossible for him to have a clearly enunciated position he will stay with for longer than it takes him to adjust to his immediate target audience. Only trouble with that is that there are folks out here who have the annoying habit of looking back at what Obama said about something in the past, and comparing it to what he is saying today. The term “flip-flop” comes up, but that is to slander a cheap but functional variety of beach footwear. This is just pure chicanery, counting on charm alone to get himself over the rough patches, and he will be forgiven every gaffe in advance.
America is so screwed.

I want to see the MSM ask just once of Obama what he thinks about the thousands of terrorist killed or captured in Iraq and whether they are just insignificant in the WOT?

Folks can say what they want about McCain, but he's been there. He knows how the real world works in the military. Transferring a single brigade from Iraq to Iran would be a stupid move. Letting a brigade in Iraq time out and rotate back to the states, and re-designating the brigade that was ready to step up.... that might make sense. If that is what the commanders on the ground need.
Tactics win battles, logistics loses wars.

Afghanistan experts say John McCain and Barack Obama are clueless That was a pretty interesting article.
I wish both these fools would quit playing politics with our troops.

"We have to understand that the situation is precarious and urgent here in Afghanistan and I believe this has to be the central focus, the central front, in our battle against terrorism," Obama said. We have to fight terrorists where they are. Afghanistan is not the only place they are and it certainly is not their headquarters or training ground anymore. Iran is where we need to go now to fight the bastards.

Some of the NATO outfits have fought quite well. The Danes have done well and earned respect, as have the Canucks, particularly the Princess Pats. The Germans fight only in self defense, while the Brits fight better in the Stan than they had been doing in Iraq. I don't know where the haloed one expects to get another combat brigade and support from NATO that is effective. The French have experience in Africa and the Legion is good, but the Dutch, Norwegians, Italians are garrison soldiers. Maybe the Poles who did well in Iraq.
All in all adding three brigades is not addiing fighting power if one of those brigades is the modern equivelant of the Romanians or Spanish on the Russian Front in 43-44. Or like the Brazilians in Italy in 44-45.
