Romney moves up as Potential McCain VP
NPR ^ | July 20 | Ron Elving

Once upon a time, people who wanted to be president were not expected to admit it in public. This mask of false indifference had to be dropped when the rise of primaries forced candidates to campaign actively for the office.

“The ONLY way I can vote for LIBERAL, McPain is if CONSERVATIVE Mitt is VP. Otherwise, I stay home and don’t vote.”

The ONLY way I can not vote for LIBERAL, McPain is if he DOESN’T CHOOSE LIBERAL Mitt as VP. Otherwise, I stay home and don’t vote.

There is reciprocity in the world.

The last thing we need on the ticket is a guy who said the only difference
between his health care plan and Hillary's is that his became law. That fool was Romney.

Exactly. Hillary could be Romney's running mate or wife.
Feel the love.

Romney on Hillary: "Hillary Clinton is very much right, it does take a village, and we are a village
and we need to work together in a non-skeptical, non-finger-pointing way..."

(Mitt Romney, "For City Problems, Future Solutions," The Boston Globe, 3/1/98)

Sen. Hillary Clinton on RomneyCARE=HillaryCARE: "To come up with a bipartisan plan in this polarized environment is commendable."

Truth hurts doesn’t it

How would you know? It doesn't seem to have ever made contact with your brain.

Yes it does, and exposing yourself, just now with this one post, hurts your efforts among the serious.

So with that...

Your list, as deceptive as it is, doesn’t say what you think it says. You think it means that Romney is somehow conservative, when it really means that the “leadership” of the conservative movement has lost their way and been corrupted by a party that will even give five seconds of consideration to the most liberal Governor in the history of the republic.

But the facts remain...

The facts are that Romney is so liberal and so hateful of the truth (like his supporters, apparently)
that Romney was caught having to award himself an 'award'.
Is that not special?

"Behind the empty gestures and deceptive rhetoric, Romney was not pro-life
or a defender of marriage by any stretch of the imagination.
He was a disaster," said O'Gorman, of the board for Massachusetts Citizens for Life.
He said Romney "deceptively" claims to have been awarded
a pro-life award from the group.

"The award Romney arranged for himself with the local Pioneer Valley Chapter
was the Mullins Award for Political Leadership, not a pro-life award
and not approved by MCFL's state board of directors," he said.
"We're blowing the whistle to warn voters…
"

I’m implying that the Romney haters have a problem with him being more Conservative than McCain.

What a bunch of swill that line is.

McCain never was pro-choice.

McCain never forced or supported forcing any of his constituents to buy health insurance.

McCain never dissed Reagan.

McCain has always been for the Second Amendment.

McCain never put out a pink flier supporting gay rights for a Gay Pride Parade.

Care for more?

Your list, as deceptive as it is

You don't believe that William F. Buckley posthumously decided that McCain should select Romney for the VP slot?

You know what I find so entertaining D, you post a large amount of first source data on Mitt, quotes from him, quotes from first sources and people at the events or connected directly to the given issue.

And yet you are called a basher and a hater...

I just find that so entertaining, you are beating the man about the head with his own words, his own actions, and you are the bad guy...

Damn...

Mitt is much more Conservative than McCain.

Mitt wants to close the borders.

Mitt is pro life.

Mitt is pro-gun.

Mitt is a whiz on the economy and drilling. He knows what to do to get us out of this mess.

Mitt will bring swing states like Michigan, Minnesota and many others.

Mitt is a brilliant debater.

Mitt has always been against McCain-Feingold.

Mitt is supported by Tom Tancredo and many other Conservatives.

Ouch. That will leave a mark.

Mitt is much more Conservative than McCain.

Not

Mitt wants to close the borders.

How would he get his landscaping done?? I don't think so!

Mitt is pro life.

Just an opinion. He was clearly pro-choice when he ran for Liberal Governor

Mitt is pro-gun.

I understand his son owns a gun and he's been hunting twice.

Mitt is a whiz on the economy and drilling. He knows what to do to get us out of this mess.

Mitt is not a "whiz on the economy and drilling" - really, the things you guys make up out of whole cloth!

Mitt will bring swing states like Michigan, Minnesota and many others.

No evidence of that. It is your opinion.  Whole  Cloth II. Are you a tailor?

Mitt is a brilliant debater.

I watched him and it was painful. He looked like a cross between Joe Isuzu and the graphic guy on FR who says... "Oh, Jeez, Not that ____ again"

Mitt has always been against McCain-Feingold.

Not the burning issue of the day. And just because Mitt says anything, we don't actually believe it...

Mitt is supported by Tom Tancredo and many other Conservatives.

And???

There are several ways one can read those polls. IMO, those polls indicate that many Republicans don’t know what conservatism is all about. They’re willing to place Romney’s shifts in his political rhetoric, over his life long public record in support of liberalism.

The last eight years should have convinced you that many of those Republicans who followed Reagan and Gingrich weren’t really conservatives. They turned out to be political moderates and liberals. They just happen to jump onto the bandwagon and rode the wave of a popular conservative agenda.

These are the types of voters who support Mitt Romney. What we use to call, Rockefeller Republicans —— aka. LIBERALS!
