That nervous laughter you hear is the sound of party activists responding to speculation that Barack Obama or John McCain might pick a vice presidential candidate from the opposing party.
More specifically, it is reaction to talk that Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel (Neb.) is being seriously considered as a running mate for Barack Obama or that Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (Conn.), an independent who caucuses with the Democrats, is a potential choice for John McCain.
Though its nothing more than unfounded conjecture at this point, top conservative and liberal activists nevertheless say that any cross-party selection of that kind would thrust the respective party conventions into turmoil.

Take care to check the "mccainlist", "mccaintruthfile", and "mccain" keyword search links for related threads, since we can not possibly ping you to every relevant article that is posted. Maybe they could swap, and Lieberman could run with Obama while Hagel runs with McCain. Problem solved for activists; America screwed.
To: rabscuttle385
Ain’t gonna happen.
Hagel is pro-life and Lieberman is pro-abortion.
End of story.

I wonder which one wants to lose the most. Seems they are both vying to lose. Lieberman is about as old as MaCain.I suppose the left will like Chuckhead.

McCain has already shown that he doesn’t care what Pro-Lifers think.

As much as I don't want to vote for McCrazy I will but either way we're screwed. The North American Union will happen within the next 2-8 years (2010 was the original date but I've heard thats not the case anymore).
Unless we take this country back the United States of American and our Constitution is dead, dead, dead and I just don't see a revolution happening here.

Obviously, McCain has completely written off Conservatives. He is going after Laraza, Moderates, Independents and Democrats. Which explains his continuous pandering and Leftist ideas for the economy and environmental over-kill. Not to mention SHAMnesty.

They don’t care how ridiculous the story is. The only thing that they care about is bashing McCain. We have people here on FR, who I have never seen say anything bad about Obama - makes me wonder about that, who have abandoned all logic in their attempt to take personal shots at McCain.
They are going to claim next that McCain was brainwashed by the KGB while in captivity or by the Bavarian Illuminati to bring about a New World Order, or that McCain was kidnapped by the Mexican Centro de Información de Seguridad Nacional (CISN) and brainwashed.
The truth of the matter is that McCain VP selection will probably be Mitt Romney or Sarah Palin. They are hoping that it will be some one they can complain about, because they have done nothing but complain for the last 6 months.
They will probably say that Mitt belongs to a doomsday cult, so we cannot support him, or that Sarah should be at home baking cookies and taking care of her family.

Here's you buddy Bob Barr taking about Amnesty with neil Boortz.
Barr and Boortz on illegal immigration, and what to do with those already here
Tuesday, April 8, 2008, 04:42 PM
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Former Georgia congressman Bob Barr, now exploring a Libertarian bid for president, had an interesting exchange with Neal Boortz on WSB (750AM) this morning.
Listen to the sound clip here.
Apparently, among some conservatives, theres been some dispute over where Libertarians stand on the issue of illegal immigration.
The Libertarian Party has not exactly been strong on the issue of controlling the Mexican invasion into this country, Boortz began.
Actually, they have been, Barr replied.
The two gentlemen moved to the matter of what to do with the paperless people who are already here.
Said Barr:
You set a mechanism internally to determine who is here. And if you catch folks that are here unlawfully, and do not submit themselves to a background check that those coming into this country are going to be required to do, then you send them back to their country.
Said Boortz:
It sounds to me that youre saying, if you find an illegal immigrant in this country, and theyre willing to submit to a background check, that that could open the door to them staying here.
Said Barr:
I think as a practical matter, that makes a lot of sense. Im not sure how you would go about rounding up millions of people and trying to deport them. The key here is security
.

I’m afraid that if you stick around here very long, you’ll wind up with your ears trimmed.

Rubbish. Lieberman is going to be Sec State or Sec Defense. At least Ambassador to the UN. The Veep will be a Governor.

As a veteran I consider their work on behalf of nObama a big FU, and frankly they disgust me.
Their efforts to silence anyone who would vote for McCain to prevent a much more leftward leaning candidate from being elected by “labeling” is right out of the leftist playbook.
