I recently asked a friend who supports abortion rights, "If by some miracle, you knew a pregnant woman's child would one day find a cure for Alzheimer's, would you still believe that woman had the right to terminate that pregnancy, depriving mankind of this medical breakthrough?" Please don't forget the child who one day would grow up and work at Walmart or Sears, or drive a Taxi cab. We have no right to terminate them either and 'deprive mankind' of their presense among us.

I was going to say something like that. The feelings are genuine, but the reasons given are wrong.
Best way for someone who is not against abortion to see the light, if the person has other children: Imagine that you tried to stop the conception of one of your children but were unsuccessful. You now have the benefit of seeing what you tried to destroy. Not some imaginary scientist or taxi driver, but your own beautiful son or daughter.

Thank you for that important contribution to the discussion! Don’t forget the child who will have Down’s Syndrome, Spina Bifida, or Cerebral Palsy, either. Their right to life is as inviolate as the next Einstein’s.
