It is becoming ever more clear that we have a liberal versus a flaming socialist in the battle for the White House.

Dude. Are you such a newbie that you don’t know what links are?
Once again I call your attention to the sources I provided you in link # 3.
Here: http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/14/1-volt-or-2-priuses/?hp
Please pay close attention to this found at said link: Mr. Lutz has also suggested a more realistic price for the Volt would be about $48,000.
Also, please direct your attention to post #7. Wolverine also posted sources.

The Just Say No to Juan McCain Ping List.
Building the McCain Truth File, one thread at a time. To join: FReepmail rabscuttle385 to subscribe or to unsubscribe from this ping list. This can be a very high-volume ping list at times. We are exploring giving subscribers two different options for receiving pings: either to individual threads or to a single "digested" thread at the end of each calendar day. FReepmail rabscuttle385 if you are interested in receiving one or the other. Take care to check the "mccainlist", "mccaintruthfile", and "mccain" keyword search links for related threads, since we can not possibly ping you to every relevant article that is posted. To flag a relevant thread, please add the keywords "mccainlist" and "mccaintruthfile". Republican Commissars Warning: By joining this ping list, you may be subjected to the irrational rants and ramblings of McCainiacs, of "moderate" Republicans, of deeply confused conservatives resigned to voting for the lesser of two Democrats, and of countless trolls who simply want to meet a new overlord. |

Apparently the U.S. Gub’mint has an unlimited supply of taxpayer funds for Johnny McAppleseed to hand out like peanuts.

Because every mile of those vehicles life costs you money priced in petrol dollars while a Volt costs you in electricity. You’ll spend a little more up front but you’ll save in fuel over its expected life.

per the link:
“Lutz now figures a more realistic price for the Volt would be about $48,000. He reckons that $40,000 might be possible, without making any profit. Only government tax incentives could take the price tag nearer to $30,000.”
If this is a necessary step for GM they’ll sell it closer to 40k. Hell, they sell you their car with no interest if you buy them now.

Its going to take a huge shift in business plans and resources for these companies to survive in the 21st century and it may inevitably lead to bankruptcy. GM and Ford control the jobs of millions of Americans and like the Airlines and the Banks they will be bailed out by a sound investment made by the Fed.
