History was made in Thousand Oaks California on the corner of Hampshire Boulevard and Royal Oaks Street, Saturday July 12. Hundreds of illegal alien day laborers have been crowded in this peaceful city owned park area along Hampshire Road in Old Thousand Oaks. For many years, hundreds of possible illegal alien day laborers have littered this area. Sadly, this rundown area is the first thing outside tourists see when tourists exit the 101 Freeway on their way to visit the state-of-the-art Thousand Oaks City Theater complex. This Thousand Oaks city sponsored day laborer center was essentially CLOSED for that one day.
Ventura county residents, taxpayers and voters will recall that the Thousand Oaks City Council has spent $89,000, appropriated through the city's Community Development Block Grant Fund to build the center and with an annual maintenance site cost is about $20,000. That is taxpayer's $100,00 spent a year costs to have this DLC (Day Laborer Center) open. Also to help the day laborers further, a social service agency based in Oxnard, provides English classes to the day workers. The program is being funded with a $25,000. All the while other proud city fun traditions like the annual 40 plus years-old Conejo Valley Days parade and festival cannot be held for lack of city funding. Also there are many press articles demonstrating that local police and fire city services continue to suffer from lack of city budgetary support.

Who the heck would open a day laborer center?
Pawns of day laborers, who want to feel good about themselves using other people’s money.
Liberals.
Three cheers for Thousand Oaks!!!
More good news!
Sure, it doesn't say it's for ILLEGAL workers, but it's pretty obvious...
Disgraceful the way the police conducted themselves. The protesters are the only ones who have to obey the law, and the lawbreaking illegal immigrants go around with impunity. If someone was out there with a video camera every day, this activity would move to another location.
The folks that solicit ILLEGALS day laborers should be ticketed... with their photos posted in the paper... that'll shut down the operation pretty quick.
1) interest on the national debt
2) 40 million illegals sending money back to Mexico
... and we’re wondering why there is a recession.
I’d be afraid to have these people at my house - who knows what could happen.
I wonder who uses these people who can barely speak to them and who could be anything from a mass murderer to a hard worker.
When the folks in the Valley rise up against illegals then that is a wave that will completely cover the entire Los Angeles metropolitan area!
“The freebies are finito, amigo!”
The "police" in California are lawless. They enforce only laws they feel important (those that involve revenue to their employers) or politically unthreatening and ignore the rest. They routinely side with illegals against citizens, violating every oath they ever took and the laws against malfeasance.
The police chief of Mountain View has publicly stated that since his Mother was an illegal alien (!), he will not enforce any laws against them based on their "status", and in fact goes out of his way to prevent immigration law enforcement.
Who’s left in the Valley to rise up?
Just in time for the Cowboys’ Training Camp.
Unbelievable. I lived in TO for decades before finally giving up on California. This outrageous use of tax money is yet another reason why............
That whole section of TO is one big barrio. Hookers walk down TO Blvd in broad daylight, driving through the side streets (if you dare) is like visiting Mexico with all the junk cars, kids running all over the street.
And the City Council supports them with taxpayer money..........
