Arrest warrant issued for woman whose bogus tip allegedly triggered FLDS raid
The Salt Lake Tribune ^ | July 15, 2008

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Colorado woman alleged to have sparked the raid on the polygamous FLDS ranch in Texas with bogus tips may be on the run.

On Monday, an arrest warrant was issued for Rozita Swinton after she failed to show up for a court hearing on charges of violating her probation for one of two other false-reporting cases against her, court administrator Lori McKager told Salt Lake City's 2News.

Swinton is accused of violating her probation stemming from her 2007 guilty plea for telling police she was a 16-year-old girl who was suicidal after giving birth.

Authorities have linked her to a phone number used to call a Texas crisis center thought to have triggered an April raid where more than 460 children were removed from the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints' Yearning for Zion ranch in Eldorado, Texas.

Swinton, 33, faces jail time if found guilty of violating probation.

What 1950-1960? Really it's not that long ago. ------

The past 100 years for example, men had an average age at marriage of 25.9 years in 1900. Women in 1900 had an average age at marriage of 22 years.

Currently the average age at marriage in the US is 26.8 years for men, and 25.1 years for women.

Don’t worry about the witch hunt. If they win, they can hang us together.

Why is it that every thread I see you in you’re baiting for responses?

Speaking for myself, after having been called a rapist, child molester, and a dirty old man who liked to see young girls being forced, all for simply questioning the Constitutionally of the raid, there can't bee too many 'bait posts'. They draw out the fascits.

She could be looking at 10 years in prison when it’s all over.

The abuse those poor kids suffered at the hands of the state of Texas will probably give them PTSD for the rest of their lives.

How old was Mary when she gave birth to the Savior of the World? (Just asking.)

Thank you. I am so horrified about what happened to the FLDS kids, the raid and roundup, and CPS breathing down their throats. It just makes me sick. And all based on a false report from a whacked out 33-year-old woman.

You mormonism apologists like to post the query every time this polygamy cult off-shoot of LDS Momronism issue comes up. Would you like to finally explain what the age of Mary The Mother of Our Lord has to do with the possible criminality of this pedophile pushing obsession of yours?

Thank you. A fascist is one who wants their values in power, and only their values. Fortunately, in America we respect all values. I do not agree with the FLDS lifestyle but for Goodness’ sake, this is America. I do not agree with the Jehovah’s Witnesses, nor do I agree with the Scientologists, but I sure as heck do not want to harass them, invade their space, and round up all their children at gunpoint and dump them in foster homes. Is that America? No, that is fascism.

(Another news report from TV news.) Says she will face jail time if convicted. Making a false report, it turns out, is not very nice. It can cause a great deal of pain for the innocents (like the FLDS kids).

Filing a false report can also result in taxpayers having to spend millions of dollars ($14 million so far), in trying to utterly destroy a religious community without due process. It gave CPS the idea that they could round up adult women and hold them against their will.

I am grateful for the TX supremes who ordered the children back to their parents. But the witch-hunt continues . . . It appears that some people are obsessed with “getting” the FLDS.

Again, my husband says it’s because someone wants the FLDS ranch property. The FLDS paid $700,000 for it and now it’s worth millions. It is right in the way of the NAFTA superhighway between Mexico and you and me.

I have a nephew who is a Jehovah’s Witnesses. He doesn’t celebrate birthdays or Christmas. He also doesn’t have multiple wives (which is illegal). He will neither give away his pubescent daughters to some smelly old geezers nor will he will not throw his teenaged sons out onto the streets to cut down on the competition.

Do you have proof of the claims that young girls were forced to marry drooling perverts? What were their names? How much did they really drool? What were their ages? How many girls were forced into these unions? What does it say on the COPS TV show—All people are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. I read that someplace else too—it was in some important paper.

Probably early to mid teens.
I was mostly responding to the 50-60 years ago that people married young and pointing out the 50-60 years ago was only the 1950/1960.
As an old woman it just did not seem that long ago.

“She could be looking at 10 years in prison when it’s all over.”

Yes, she could.

I think the severity of sentence should in some way be on par with the severity of those who commit child abuse and kidnapping.
I think this is something the Judge in the case should consider, as well as the fact this woman is a few cans short of a six pack.

Here’s a theme song for the event, for the both of you.

(Intended only in the interest of being able to do a little introspection, and relax, and because it’s a really good song!)

“Innocent until proven guilty,”

First, that is not actually true. The actual phrase is “Not guilty until proven otherwise”.

You will never hear a Judge rule “innocent” because that is not the legal concept at question.

Judges rule GUILTY, or NOT GUILTY.

Second, that phrase applies to any criminal prosecution in the case, which hasn’t happened yet.

What you are really trying to say, is that the innocent victims should not be punished, is this not correct?
