All Desiree Carpenter wanted was a chance to succeed. As a young woman Ms. Carpenter (not her real name) had been subjected to repeated physical and sexual assaults, losing her eyesight during one attack. Her assailant did hard time, but now he was back on the streets and vowing to track her down.
Her only hope was to flee to another state, assume a new identity, and start over. Washington was the best place to begin anew, since the state had passed tough anti-stalking laws.

My experience working with women’s crisis centers and shelters over the past 30+ years has been that they are routinely managed by the angriest lesbians possible and staffed by lesbians, and mild do-gooders. They are some of the most dysfunctional and emotionally abusive places to work available...as is most of the leftist nonprofit world.

If anyone thinks this is either bad writing or BS, because a lot of it seems to make no sense...try to walk in that woman’s shoes.
A relative of mine used to be very involved with dv issues, and I learned by observation that shelters and govt programs can be just as bad as the one described in this report.
If you’re fleeing abuse, don’t go to a shelter. Go to a friend. Don’t go to court, go to a gun club and learn how to defend yourself with something sturdier than a PFA.
Don’t waste your time trying to change your identity. One govt goon can screw it up in a moment, and so can google.
If you depend on the govt, you’re vulnerable. If you absolutely must depend on it until the kids are grown and can help you, get to a red state where you can defend yourself and your kids.
There are dozens of little “underground railroads” on the internet. Shop around. Reach out.
Govt is the last resort. Organizations are the next to last, because they are run by rules, and one size pinches all.
Here is a ‘do good’ charitable and probable tax-supported organization that appears to willingly violate current laws (Americans with Disability Act [ADA]). It appears that she has been abused a second time by this shelter which has its own agenda for ‘helping’. You just have to wonder about what goes on out of the public eye under the auspices of ‘charitable organizations’. Is there a ‘Charles Dickens’ out there to write about some of these abuses?
For feminists, she did not fit the euphemism of “single mum”, as in prostitute gang thug.
We used to help widows, blind women, women abandoned and other legit causes, but now these true victims have somehow been put in the same categories with the common thug prostitute feminists under the umbrela “big tent” name of “single mums”.
These lesbian feminists running shelters love to destroy families, reassign children to whores and pedophiles and will not stop as long as activist cops, prosecutors and judges of the same evil government wasting citizen lineage who gargarize themselves of the blood of the innocent continue.
Because they could not predict the weather, they created man-made famines to benefit their “invested” evil life styles.
