Since the assassination of William McKinley, when Theodore Roosevelt took over as the nation's youngest president, seven former vice presidents have either by election, assassination, succession - ... - taken the oath of office to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America". Why no reference to Abraham Lincoln/Andrew Johnson?
Journalistic incompetence?

As former US Ambassador to the United Nations, he also has had a broad portfolio including significant international experience successfully negotiating with foreign governments including North Korea, Iraq and Cuba. Hate to see what the results of an unsuccessful negotiation would have been like

What BS. Duncan Hunter and Gov. Palin are not even mentioned. This is just a list of RINOs and Democrats, obviously A-OK to the MSM (with their hit materials ready and waiting).
If McCain has intelligence he will go for who is NOT on this list.
The "Warrior and the Woman" (would Win BIG
attacting a large fraction of the pro-Hillary frustrated Democrat women.

Some real “barf-a-roni” moments in this article, too!
“Joe Biden who has spent over two decades in Congress is one of the leading voices in foreign policy.
He brings a mature and seasoned approach to complex issues on the international front. He could also be considered for the position of Secretary of State. “

No Fred.
Fred’s a top of the ticket man only.
He won’t play bottom to anyone. He’s already ruled it out.
Plus, he doesn’t bring anything to the ticket. It would be like McCain and McCainer. McCain needs someone who brings youth, vigor, executive experience, and economic strength, not to mention fund raising. I think Romney is the best choice.
All of August is going to be consumed with Olympic coverage, and then we’ll have the Republican convention right after, where there will be much talk about how Romney saved the Salt Lake City Olympics economically. Romney would be a huge advantage to the GOP and the nation at this particular time.

I know how McCain can sew up the election:
He needs a female VP pick who will appeal to people who dont like Obama.
He needs a female VP pick who will both pander to the left, and make him look conservative.
He needs a female VP pick who will reach across party lines.
He needs Hillary!...

I liked Matt Blunt...but he’s apparently retiring from politics.
Eric Cantor. He’s a congressman though and it seems McCain will probably go for a Governor.
It’ll most likely be Pawlenty

I thought that Fred might not even be considered but the longer this thing runs the more he appears to be a solid choice. He was always a solid choice for me. Fred would be a safe choice and he would be good for the role of McCain defender. I’m not sure if any of the others could really pull it off and some would be horrible choices if McCain wants to make nice with conservatives.

If McCain picks Rep. Duncan Hunter, Gov. Bobby Jindal, Sen. John Thune, Governor Palin, or Rob Portman, I will even contribute to his campaign, and I have never contributed to a “moderate” candidate before.
But if McCain picks Charlie Crist or Joe Lieberman, I won’t even vote for McCain.

What a stupid list. Fiorini is a joke and ran HP into the ground. Huckabee isn't on anyone's list.
It's either going to be Palin, Pawlentee, or Romney. I'm rooting for Willard.
