LEBANON, Tenn. - Cindy McCain's day at the races included a ride in the Honda Accord Safety Car with three-time Indianapolis 500 champion Johnny Rutherford, some private chat time with Danica Patrick and watching the Firestone Indy 200.
"Couldn't ask for a better day," the wife of presumptive Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain said.
Mrs. McCain attended the drivers meeting at Nashville Superspeedway and met with Indy Racing League presidents Brian Barnhart (competition and operations) and Terry Angstadt (commercial) afterward. She toured the IndyCar Series garage area and watched the 200-lap race from a suite.
She rode in the front seat as Rutherford, the Honda Accord Safety Car driver for IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights races, toured the 1.33-mile oval.

Dixon wins rain-shortened Firestone Indy 200
July 12, 2008 - Scott Dixon didn’t have the best car Saturday night at Nashville Superspeedway, but he did have the best strategy. Dixon elected to stay out on a late caution to take the lead, and took the win in the rain-shortened Firestone Indy 200.

Cindy has got into “drifting” with her teenage son. She is no slouch behind the wheel.
Good for her.. She is a real winner.
Cindy McCain checks out the Gibson Guitar trophy at the Nashville Superspeedway for the Firestone 200 IndyCar series.
McCain, wife of presidential hopeful John McCain, rode shotgun in the pace car before Saturday’s race, an outing that was part campaign outreach for the racing vote, part field trip for a longtime racing fan.
After a few laps around the track, McCain made a beeline for the garage, peppering raceway officials with questions about the track, the racing lineup and the cars.
Cindy McCain’s been a racing fan since she was 14. Her father invested in a race car and took her to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to check out the car. But in those days, women weren’t allowed in the pits, so young Cindy was left fuming outside the gate.

Cindy McCain holds a baby born with a cleft lip at a mission in Bao Loc, Vietnam, in June 2007. (Operation Smile photo) Cindy , you have no competition in the First Lady race...rally on!
What a beautiful picture of Cindy McCain.
I stand corrected — all of the pictures of Cindy McCain are beautiful.
This lady is hot stuff! And I like that everywhere she goes she wears a “USMC” pin.
Cindy McCain is a beautiful person, inside and out
She sure is. :-)
Cindy is a Mother to a Marine.
That pin is going to drive the Establishment press into a frenzy. Course that may be the shortest trip ever taken.
Pray for W and Our Troops
Please note the USMC pin on Cindy McCain, and then ask yourself.. "are you feeling lucky, Obama(punk), well are you?"
That’s just too cool. :-)
LOL. He’s got on a PINK McCain hat. LOL.
I don’t think Cindy McCain is capable of taking a bad picture.
Cindy McCain is one class act. Big difference between her and Mrs. Obama. Cindy would compliment the president. Mrs. Obama would have to wear a muzzle half the time. Way to go, Cindy!
