I just found out, to my horror, that one of the co-hosts on a 3 hour sports show on a LOCAL all sports station made $500,000 a year.
(Tony was underpaid at whatever he did)
I just yelled out the same thing—Juan, your kid was in college and he didn’t know Tony was WH Press Secretary???
Juan did say that it was when Tony had just started at the WH.
It’s over here, darn.
When I heard that, I was surprised too, until I remembered that Tony’s bandmates said on Greta last night, that they didn’t see Tony as WH Press Secretary or a TV/Radio host but rather as the neighbor down the street. Perhaps he was happier being thought of that way.
Look at the Black “pundits” that all to often occupy space on the FNS shows. The jerk Mark?, from some liberal school in the east, the pudgy Black woman that starts talking and is still yelling hysterically 10 minutes later when the rest have left.
I do believe Fox picks these people because they are so ‘over the edge’ and very unintelligent in the process.
Kinda like the Houston City guy that thinks “black hole” is a racist term. That alone makes me wonder about the mental acuity of the black race.
I’m watching the Vice President on FNS.
He says with a smile “I’m generally viewed as the most Conservative”
I love our Vice President!
Catch it online with C-SPAN this afternoon; also just caught Brokaw mentioning they’ll have a piece of the “elegant” Tony toward the end of his show.
Obama can add that to irritating Jesse Jackson, ‘taking down’, telling fathers to take responsibility for their children and keep them out of Rev Wright’s church.
In Juan defense maybe he felt that because of his public views on politics that it would either be counter productive to talk about them to his son or had a strict rule of not bring work home, maybe his wife insisted.
It is surprising especially of recent times how many politicians emphasize keeping their children away from the media and the political life does this not in fact backfire and create a disinterest by the child in politics which even more turns other youngsters aware. They will naturally think well if so and so whose parent is either a pundit or politician has no interest and does not see the relevance for them why should I.
I think there are faults on both sides but somehow we have to interest the younger generation.
Watching it now.
‘Houston City guy’. I thought it was a Dallas council member - John Wiley Price - or was he on for an equally stupid remark (or I’m getting my cities mixed up).
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Iraqi national security adviser Mowaffak al-Rubaie.
“I don’t think that is a fair question”
.
When badgered on a time table by Blitzer. Imagine that!
I think the reason for the change is fairly simple.
Wallace was scheduled to be off, but as he realized this would be a very special show, he decided to come back and do it.
Whether his motives were pure, as in ... I loved Tony and don’t want to miss the tribute ... or self-serving, as in ... this show will probably be very well watched and I want to be in on it ...
I don’t know.
Bechel may be funny but Beckel is a pain in the area recently mentioned by Jesse Jackson.
Juan has said in the past, that his son is a conservative but not particularly interested in living politics. IOW, he has a real life.
Rush on now...
The Vice President said Tony’s house burned down.
I didn’t know that
Juan’s son is a conservative? Think he can slap some sense into his dad?
