I know many of us would have preferred Brit to do it but I am would say it was purely done this way because it was considered the correct and proper thing to do and showed respect for Tony that it was done by the permanent host of the show rather than the fill in.
[In fact sometimes I can find her better on some subjects that Sean Hannity who can sometimes be blinded by his extreme partisan views and not see a broader picture. ]
I recall her totally horrible coverage of the OJ trial. For an attorney, (and I had just graduated from Law School), she showed a remarkable lack of understanding of the process, the law and the situation. She was wrong on almost every point.
Great post snugs thanks.
Although I enjoy the slapdowns too, they tend to remind me of an exasperated father (Brit) lecturing his errant son (Juan) for the umpteenth time why he can't have the car Friday night.
Colmes I think can sometime be difficult to listen to because what he is saying he does not believe when he is best is when he is obviously saying something he believes in which may or not be the same as Sean's view.
I agree, snugs. I think it was considered to be ‘the right thing’ for the current host to return from his vacation to do this show.
Hey you! Long time, no see.
I suspect a few more he I believe is very dangerous and will do almost anything to get elected.
Here’s something I’ve always wondered.
Are the journalists themselves THAT liberal or is it the networks they work for?
I think it’s a combination of both.
For instance when Greg Jarrett was at MSNBC he always toted the liberal line.
Now that he’s at Fox he’s much more balanced.

From that link ... the last line it says it all
He is an authentic Christian in faith and in works.
Thank you for posting it, mathluv
I was not aware of that maybe that explains the friendship even more between him and Tony maybe Tony felt in some way he had a calling to witness to Beckel.
I tried to believe that Alas was not too bad - until he wrote his book, and had a chapter about that ‘great’ president, bill clinton. That is when I decided he really believed his ‘schtick’.
I saw it differently. She had more guests reflecting on Tony in her 52 minutes than did O'Reilly or Rivera. I'm sure her producer was talking in her ear that she had to move on to give everyone some airtime.
What Juan said about his communication with his own son was more shocking than anything else Juan has admitted in the past.
Paraphrase: he does not talk politics with his [18 yr old] son. They were driving somewhere one day and the voice of Tony Snow, speaking as WH Press Secretary, came over the radio. The son said in surprise “Is that OUR Tony Snow?” This son had been to ballgames in DC with his father and Tony.
Why did that son not already know that his acquaintance had become the White House Press Secretary!!!! It makes me want to scream!
Oops! Not Alas, but Alan.
They will probably do a one special in due course which will be available to purchase they do seem to do quite a few of these one specials.
Not dumb... just misinformed and misguided.
Greta’s show was much more about Tony than either of the other shows.
Exactly and think that is what they are appealing to and feel gets them viewers.
How many times do people on this thread say I only watch FNC to see a Brit slap down of Juan I have read these comments times after time.
