We also lost a beloved FReeper FRiend. Tony Snow was active here from the early days and continued until he became WH Press Secretary. He just recently reinstated his membership.

Centers for Children and Families' "An Evening With ..." fund raiser this year features as its celebrity presenter former White House Press Secretary Tony Snow. The 7th annual event will be on Tuesday, August 5 at the Midland County Horseshoe.
Snow served the George W. Bush Administration from May 2006 to September 2007. In addition to his position as press secretary in the George W. Bush White House, he served as Director of Speechwriting and as Deputy Assistant to the President for Media Affairs for President George H.W. Bush in 1991.
He has spent a quarter of a century in the news business. Hes worked in all three major media print, radio and television. Hes best known for his seven year stint as the host of FOX News Sunday and is currently a conservative commentator for CNN.
Snow was born in Berea, Ky., and was raised in Cincinnati where his father taught social studies and was an assistant principal. His mother was a nurse who died of colon cancer when he was 17. Snow obtained his BA in Philosophy from Davidson College. He taught physics and geography in Kenya and also worked as an advocate for the mentally ill and developmentally disabled in North Carolina.
In February 2005 Snow was diagnosed with colon cancer. He has successfully fought the disease twice and is now on the national speakers circuit and is a guest on television and FOX News. Tony is an avid musician and is married with one son, two daughters, three dogs, a cat and three guinea pigs.

There are not many public figures for whom I would shed a tear. But I do for Tony Snow. He was just so nice. Just damn. My sympathies to his family.
I was stunned this morning when I heard the news...I knew he was ill ..very sad. Tony was a good man who lived his faith and he will truly be missed.
