The real story of this year's money race? It's much more competitive than anyone expected.
As always, Obama's army of 1.7 million donors provided his campaign with a larger individual pot than McCain's: $30 million for Chicago (according to the Wall Street Journal)* vs. $22 million for Crystal City. But thanks to those higher caps on party contributions, the vast majority of McCain's money--that is, another $26 million--went to the RNC. All told, the Republicans now boast a combined cash-on-hand total of $102.6 million, according to McCain campaign manager Rick Davis--$27 million from McCain and the remaining $75.6 million from the RNC and a handful of state victory accounts. That's huge.

Don't listen to those who try to discourage us, by intimating that the election of Obama is inevitable. Remember, Hillary was supposed to be inevitable and Obama beat her. Well, looks like Republicans and conservatives are starting to realize the disaster that an Obama presidency would be for the country and everything we hold dear, and that the only person who can stop him, IS McCain, and are starting to donate.
I don't like listening to McCain, but then I listened to Obama for just a few minutes and ran to my checkbook to donate to McCain. Remember if McCain gets defeated, that means Obama as president with a Democrat Congress, creating an ultra-liberal Supreme Court.
Guess it’s time for me to actually give $$$$ to McCain. I was in total denial that John McCain would be the Republican candidate in the end.
Cindy would make an OK first lady, too.
Yep, a First Lady that didn’t just recently find something about America that made her proud.
Amen to that!
You must be kidding, right? IMHO, it is inevitable that Osack Ubama will be elected????? The guy is a nobody who has done nothing. He changes his opinion on things more than the wind changes. He runs in crowds that most Americans fear. It is ludicrous to think that Usack will ever be elected.....
We can’t allow Obama to become President, no question there.
But is it too much to wish for McCain to make a little effort to quit screwing most of his own party base?
Besides his idiot GW stance, and his love affair with illegal aliens, when a member of his side says anything sensible, the loon throws them under the bus.
Does the man stay awake at night formulating ways to anger Republican voters?
True enough, but American politics is nothing more than a popularity contest and those people have no desire to know the real BO.
During the primaries I was in the “ABM” (Anyone But McCain) camp, but the primaries are over. What we are facing now is McCain or Obama and if anyone pays any attention, they must see what a catastrophy Obama, with a Dem Congress, would be to the country and conservatism. The Dems would control all three branches of the government, stuffing the courts with leftist activist judges, worrying about the right of terrorists, at the expense of innocent Americans.
We do have the power to stop them, but there is only ONE WAY: by donating and voting for McCain and the Republicans. If you think you can’t afford it, ask yourself, can you afford an Obama presidency with a Dem Congress?
You need to read the remarks McCain gave at his Ohio townhall on Wednesday. Excellent. He is with us!
I admit to sending McCain money. I’d prefer to deduct a similar amount from Obama but that’s not an option so I do what I have to do.
Yes, God loves American indeed. :)
Let’s hope HE will save us from Obama — but as they say, God helps those who help themselves and we need to do all we can to prevent Obama from becoming president — and there is only one way: support McCain, because McCain or Obama will be elected president.
McCain’s and RNC’s donations are up, Obama is slipping in the polls, we have a good chance, just have to build on this momentum.
link please
McCain and RNC Victory 2008 combine for $48 million in June to Obama’s first post presumptive nominee haul of $30 million, far short of his record high. We are building a cash-on-hand edge. Some are worrying the Victory 2008 fund will not go to congressional candidates. I think we are building up more than enough now to have plenty of funds to split between the POTUS race and congress.
“Don’t listen to those who try to discourage us, by intimating that the election of Obama is inevitable”
Please alert those people that I am betting a steak dinner that Obama is beaten like a rented mule on 11/4!
No levelheaded American is gonna go into the voting booth and vote for an anti-American racist!
Heck, my cat could beat Obama! LOL
Now, remember, I said “levelheaded American” which automatically eliminates the Lefties and anyone who depends on government assistance for their existence...but that won’t be enough to win.
No, I’m gonna hold my nose like I’ve been doing since Reagan and vote “R” because an Obama presidency is just not acceptable...not for the U.S. military, a victory in the WOT and tens of millions of unborn babies who are depending on us to elect a man who damn well better nominate judges who will reverse Roe v. Wade when & if the time comes!
it won’t just be unborn babies...Obama stonewalled his state adopting a NATIONAL law ( that was sanctioned internationally) banning infantacide of the baby alive after being aborted!!
Has he given the Justice Brothers their cut yet?
