I was thinking about this today. The entire issue and classification system seem flawed. I don't call myself anything but an American. I never say I'm a white American, or an Irish American, and so on.

I've long ago written that racial antagonisms would be defanged if both sides were required to use accurate descriptions. “Beige” versus “pink” sounds like an interior decorators’ debate, rather than the formula for a race riot.

I have taken to using "Human" when asked to denote my 'Race'. I did that ever since the idiots in the US Census started sending out those intrusive questionnaires that wanted to know how many bathrooms I used (1 at a time) or how many rooms in my house (enough to comply with building codes).
