The news that the Rev. Jesse Jackson took a crude swipe at Sen. Barack Obama this week put renewed scrutiny on the relationship between the veteran civil rights activist and Democratic presidential contender.
But Jackson's vulgar criticism of Obama came close to going unreported.
Jackson made the comments to a guest before an interview on Sunday's "Fox & Friends," whispering that Obama was "talking down to black people" and that Jackson wanted to "cut his nuts off."
The comments went unnoticed in the control room, Bill Shine, Fox News' senior vice president for programming, said Thursday.

O'Reilly told viewers that the network had decided to air only portions of what Jackson had said, saying there was "more damaging" material.
Shine declined to comment on what else Jackson said, adding that news executives were in discussions about whether to air more of the tape.

I think it was a set up and Fox News took the bait.
It was all done to make Obama look less black and more moderate , too try and broaden his appeal among whites.
For the same reason he had Medea Benjamin on twice within a week. For the same eason he kisses Al Sharptongue's butt. For the same reason h likes that racist Marc Lamont Hill. For the same reason he continues to waste air time on Geraldo even after Gearaldo threatened to "piss" on Michelle Malkin's head. (It chased Michelle away, but Geraldo is still a regular.)
A race baiting poverty pimp, to use the precise phrase. Which was too kind.
I'd love to hearhim sit in on one of Rush's days off. That would be FUN!
I must say, Jesse dropped a huge bomb after his comment. Check out the look on his face - whew, too much chili for lunch, Jesse !!
Why did they give Jackson a special break?
That, as they say, would be verrrry interesting!
Bill O’Reilly isn’t protecting Jackson. Reread the story. It was the network that made the decision.
Bill O’Reilly isn’t in charge of the tape. It is a joint decision.
No kidding. If it was Dobson or Falwell making such comments, they would be played in entirety, hourly on every cable or network newscast.
Let’s see Fox be “fair and balanced” here.
The bigger question for me is...will the Secret Service show up at The Hustler’s front door to investigate this? Let anyone else proclaim a desire to injure a candidate under Secret Service protection and the silver bracelets come out...and rightly so. (Remember the woman in Chicago(?) who simply yelled to Clinton “you suck”, or something similar?)
I DEMAND to know the totally of Jackson’s comments.
