That’s good, the Alaska pipeline is running at half capacity now,

Sounds like you have a number that I have been looking for.

See my 18.

Yep, drilling NAWR is good for another 500,000 bpd within two years. They need a 74 mile connector pipeline.

Coal-to-liquids(CTL) is much better than burning food -- Which has got to be the dumbest thing to ever come out of the dumb Marxist Democrats..

America's energy problem is that nutter Pelosi and her “I'm the Fuhrer” way of doing things. Political power, while Americans suffer the consequences. The GOP already has their nuts cut off.

Remember Hitler was elected ...

99.9% of the GOP’s problems could be solved if they got a backbone.

Bears repeating, and I've been saying something like this since Bush first took office. All they need is a spine. That's all they've needed for quite a while. They need to quit trying to "get along" with the commies on the left. They need to quit compromising with the enemy and start defeating the enemy.

Made that conclusion, but still concerned about the obamination of the nation. One wonders how the stupid party lost sight of that little problem.

For those folks who lived through the WJC years and thought it couldn’t get much worse, I’m beginning to wonder. If certain things happen, in the next few months, look out, it is going to a very wild ride.

It gives me no pleasure to dream of eight years of rule, where every decision made by Congress, the Supreme court and the President is the exact opposite of ones you or I would make, and the evidence is only seven and a half years past.

God help us, because it has come about that far, witness the candidates for King.

“I swwear the GOP is so out of touch with outside the beltway. Its unfreaking believeable! What a worthless party!”

Yep, agree for sure. So, McCain is noted for his stubbornness. Well, in my small circle so am I. My litmus test for McCain is drilling in ANWR. Unless he changes his position on drilling in ANWR I will not vote for him nor will I send him my little bitty contribution that I normally send to the GOP nominee. So, there we have it, a standoff over ANWR between John and me...

I suspect it has far more to do with aligning their proposal and John McCain’s stated position on ANWR. Looks like the McCain campaign is driving this to me. Just my 2 cents worth.

McCain has trapped the spineless GOP in the flip flop vortex.

IN NC we have DOLE! Maybe we should wish she was a pineapple; she sure isn’t a conservative. Just another RINO. Lib Dole can go jump. Don’t DRILL! Don’t Drill! She didn’t care about losing all the manufacturing jobs in NC and her concern now is being liked by the Raleigh N&O and the Charlotte N&O.

Once a RINO always a RINO.

Jesse Helms, we wish we had cloned you.........

WASHINGTON — Senate Republicans have dropped the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge from their energy policy discussions, focusing instead on persuading Democrats to lift a moratorium on offshore drilling.

The Republicans continue to show a lack of leadership, a lack of consistency, and a lack of intestinal fortitude. It is no wonder that their approval numbers are in the single digits. We have no Statesmanship in the oval office and none in the Congress, IMO.

Could be, but I think they GOP leadership knows they have the votes to pass offshore drilling, but with Alaska added in, they don't have the votes.

Some issues may be worth scoring political points over, but I think this one is too important to do that.

I say strike while the iron is hot and get offshore passed. If, as a result of offshore, oil prices decline substantially, the GOP can then say look what a difference it made. Let's go for ANWAR as well.

The oil market is so crazy now, if there were all of a sudden a large drop in crude oil, then Democrats could say the bubble has passed and we don't need to lift the drilling ban at all.

GO for it all. The Democrats are on the losing end of this, why compromise before the battle begins? Makes no sense.

Hi there friend. I can't put in adequate words how disillusioned I have become with the way the system our Founding Fathers established for us has been stolen by both the major political parties. Issue, after issue, after issue, after issue, etc., neither party leads.

Both parties are totally reactionary to events and then try and play "catch-up" only to the point that they make the problem even worse but wow their ardent followers into believing they (the politician) can and will really make a difference.

We, the people, have been allowing them to "rule" us for a long time now.

While I don't attempt to convince anyone to adopt the course of action I have chosen, and will not argue with those who don't support my choice, I have decided I will no longer participate in "their" (the Democan/Republicat) game any longer.

George Washington is turning in his grave and shouting, "I tried to warn you!" But alas, more than likely to no avail.

I am no sooth sayer, but it is certain that things are going to get worse for the electorate before they get better. Hopefully, before we are totally beyond the Rubicon enough will awaken to take back our political process.

Good to see you in print.

Thus, we remain stuck in neutral; the status remains quo and the taxpayers remain screwed by the people who are supposed to represent our views.
