Boulder District Attorney Mary T. Lacy issues the following announcement with regard to the investigation of the murder of JonBenet Ramsey.
On December 25-26, 1996, JonBenet Ramsey was murdered in the home where she lived with her mother, father and brother. Despite a long and intensive investigation, the death of JonBenet remains unsolved.
The murder has received unprecedented publicity and has been shrouded in controversy. That publicity has led to many theories over the years in which suspicion has focused on one family member or another. However, there has been at least one persistent stumbling block to the possibility of prosecuting any Ramsey family members for the death of JonBenet DNA.
As part of its investigation of the JonBenet Ramsey homicide, the Boulder Police identified genetic material with apparent evidentiary value. Over time, the police continued to investigate DNA, including taking advantage of advances in the science and methodology. One of the results of their efforts was that they identified genetic material and a DNA profile from drops of JonBenet's blood located in the crotch of the underwear she was wearing at the time her body was discovered. That genetic profile belongs to a male and does not belong to anyone in the Ramsey family.
The police department diligently compared that profile to a very large number of people associated with the victim, with her family, and with the investigation, and has not identified the source, innocent or otherwise, of this DNA. The Boulder Police and prosecutors assigned to this investigation in the past also worked conscientiously with laboratory analysts to obtain better results through new approaches and additional tests as they became available. Those efforts ultimately led to the discovery of sufficient genetic markers from this male profile to enter it into the national DNA data bank.

I think Dad is already dead or Mom. The remaining parent should sue every media outlet that implied their name.
I can still remember Cathy Griffin saying on Larry King that it was the DAD who did it. King asked how you know that? She said, Tabloids.
Sue them. They did make it shound that it had to be the parents.
I think Mom died of cancer.
Somebody fax Greta, she's got her story tonight!
South Park also implied the Ramsey’s did it.
It's so sad what these parents have been thru. Like Richard Jewell but on a much grander scale.
It’s a shame what happened to that young girl, and the ensueing tragedy that befell the family.
The whole case was fouled up by the Boulder,CO police and the DA’s office. They absolutely made a mess of this and this girl’s killer is out there laughing his arse off, that he got away with murder.
The vendetta these officials went on against the Ramsays was shocking.
Some say politics may have been involved since the Government (DA, police) was mostly an entrenched Democrat one and the Ramsays were Republican.
I was shocked by how many on FR were convinced of the Ramsays' guilt. It seemed clear to me from Day One that another Richard Jewell media jihad was taking place.
Very, very sad.
Now we're supposed to believe them when they say that the Ramsey's are innocent? Awful sorry, but until I hear more details about the forensic science behind this, I'm content to remain agnostic as to the Ramsey's guilt.
Colorado, hopeless and we thought it was just Seattle.
Liberalism is a cancer that is Killing America!
given how epically the police fouled this one up from the very beginning, how can they prove that whatever DNA evidence they have isn’t from contamination from somewhere along the line?
Well, I tend to believe Lou Smit (who has worked on over 200 murder cases and has solved 95% of them) who became convinced of the Ramsays' innocence after finding quite a bit of evidence pointing to a break in.
He is quite convincing and is still dedicated to continuing to seek an intruder after seeing how the police dept. screwed up the investigation.
I too think the Ramseys were not involved in the murder, but they are definitely guilty of displaying her as pedophile bait.

Oh, please...then let’s outlaw children in entertainment all together. After all, it’s their fault. Right?
Lest you forget, Mary Keenan believed that John Mark Karr was the killer.

There is a certain kind of mind that can only think in simplistic dichotomies. "If something is bad it must be against the law, if it's not against the law it's good."
My point is that decent people do not dress their little girls as sluts or strippers unless they are themselves perverted or intend to make a buck by diplaying them. That's all I'm blaming them for. Are you entertained by watching little girls turned into sex objects for voyeristic pedophiles?

Hank, She wasn’t dressed as as stripper, she was dressed in cute little outfits. Only a perverted man would make it dirty. Do you fit into that category?
Perhaps you ought to read my second article (from a series of 4) on American Decadence.

Perhaps you are too young to remember an age when decent people did not exploit their little girls and knew the difference between “cute” and “disgusting.” Perhaps you do not know the toll this ignorance is taking on America’s children. It’s not your fault if you don’t, because it is so pervasive, and pushed in movies and TV, most people today do not. My question in my previous post was seriouos, not meant to insult.
If you think disgust with the total loss of decency and integrity in one’s country is perverted, then, yes I am. I’m not at all like almost anyone else today. In my day, the kind of person who dominates society today and holds today’s values was very rare—they were called the perverts.
