In an interview with NPR's David Welna that ran today former Gov. Jesse "The Body" Ventura, Ind-Minn., says he will run for Senate, challenging incumbent Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., whom Ventura defeated for governor in 1998, as well as Democratic nominee and former Saturday Night Live humorist Al Franken.
Ventura, born Jim Janos, tells Welna that the main reason he's running is because of Coleman's support for the war in Iraq. "That's the reason I run," he says. "I run because it angers me...All you Minnesotans take a good hard look at all three of us. And you decide: if you were in a dark alley which one of the three of us would you want with you?

Jesse will fit right in with all the other loons.
Looks like coleman gets another term.
That would be the hope. Unless Ventura actually wins. Which itself would be kind of a hoot.
They don’t call him Jesse the Body Ventura for nothing.
He sure ain’t Jesse the Brain.
It didn't help in 1998.
Say what?
OK Minnesotans....I’m not going to just sit here and let you take over the title of stupidest state...Kalifornia is too proud of that...but you’re making it awfully tough.
Not the jackass wearing spandex and a feather boa.
How are Jesse's views on 9/11 playing in Minnesota?
That was an open race for Governor that Skip Humphrey was supposed to win in a walk and he ended up in a distant 3rd. Coleman is the incumbent Senator. With 2 liberal loons splitting the vote, Franken’s shot at the job went from fair to none.
politics has become a joke populated by jokers.
No, that was Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. Come to think of it, I wonder if he has any interest in political office...
Calling Johnnie!
Ventura is more of a libertarian loon than a liberal one, and who exactly he harms most in this race is a matter of speculation. I'll wait to see what the polls show. Suffice it to say the race got a bit more interesting.
No, but General Confusion was in command.
Ooops! No offense intended to you
Nope. His pushing of light rail and kissing up to Clinton/Gore kinda killed the "libertarian" moniker he tried to play himself up as.
I cannot stand the thought of Ventura in office again. I did not vote for him, and I can't believe that there were that many stupid people who did.
I really think he has a 'thing' (I don't like using the other term which refers to a part of the male anatomy) for Coleman. He is a stupid, classless fool.
Signed Norm's mom. j/k
It’s pretty obvious who wins when you have a split opposition to the incumbent. Still, I’ll be surprised if Ventura goes all the way to November with this. The rodents are going to be pissed as hell.
